Just because a poster hasn't gifted points back to you doesn't mean they're cheap - they just may not have seen anything from you in particular that they felt warrants points in return.

I only remembered because of the history between you and I because I thought it was utterly strange. And even then I wasn't 100% sure. I receive a lot of points in my tennis thread for posting picks and hopefully winners - I always thank each person individually and let them know that the points aren't necessary but are very appreciated. Based on your argument, am I to then give them points back even though they don't post plays themselves? Some people have given me points for a winner and I haven't even heard of them until the moment I notice they've transferred me the points. What then? Should I scramble through their post history and hope to find something I find 'point worthy' because they've given me points, unasked for, just to make things square? If so, what's the point of giving these little gifts in the first place? The way you're describing things here it's like you've given points expecting them back from people who weren't aware of this unspoken agreement in the first place. It's almost like you're giving an unasked for, and usually unnecessary, loan. What's your motive for that?
