    Man tries to sell child for 2 forty ouncers

    Authorities say a Massachusetts man offered to give his 3-month-old daughter to a maintenance man outside a gas station convenience store in exchange for a pair of 40-ounce beers.

    Chicopee police say 24-year-old Matthew Brace of Northampton made the offer on Monday.

    The maintenance man called police, who found Brace hiding with the girl behind a trash container.

    State child welfare officials took the baby into custody.

    Police say Brace was not arrested but will be summoned to court to face a charge of reckless endangerment of a child.

    A phone number for him could not immediately be found.

    The child's mother was in the store at the time buying cigarettes.

    She has not been charged.
    I remember when I used to drink 40 ouncers and I would call each 40 "a beer".

    selling the kid on the market would get him tons of $$$$$

    he could then use that money to fill up the baby's room with beer since it will be vacant

    When I was 15-16 I would take it any way I could get it. 40's,Naty Light,Boone's Farm, MD20/20, Wild Irish Rose, gut rot vodka/tequilla it didn't matter back then. We were just happy to get our hands on the alcohol. I would not drink that sh!t today. But when your a kid.

    What is the deal about a 40 being for bums or rot gut

    a 40 is 40 ounces of beer, where a regular can has 12. So bums can afford more beer? Buying a 40 of Budweiser makes you a bum or makes it bad beer instead of buying a 12 pack of Southpaw? I don't get this reasoning

    40 oz is usually referred to as such for beers with high alcohol content.. like malt liquor.

    Bums like it because it's cheap (low-quality) and it's easy to carry it around.

    they sell 40's in just about every type of beer.

    a bum can beg up 1.95 to buy a 40 first thing in the morn and get rid of his withdrawal shakes fast. One paper bag (so they can drink in public) one purchase, One container ( you don't walk around the hood with a 6 pack)

    I had never heard of Northampton, MA so I was leaning white guy. If the report said 2 40s of Mickeys then I would've known he was white. If report said Private Stock, it could go either way.

    Ha, yeah Northhampton sounds pretty white. Also the fact that he "hid behind the trash container" probly means it's a white guy. Black guy knows enough to run in that situation.

    Northhampton is a college town that has a bunch Les/Gay/Bi/Trans people and is >90% white, I knew he was white right away
