i agree that most cops are not bad ppl and that they are judged by the worst of them a lot of the time since that it is what gets media coverage. the main problem is that bad police are allowed to get away with misconduct too much. the good cops deserve some blame for that. the police union probably deserves the most blame for that. if this guy is the head of the union then he probably stopped many bad cops from being fired.

Sounds like JJgold but with hair. Just repeating himself over and over. Also he must not have talked to a pr guy before doing this, it would have helped. Public and media say that cops are out of control and you let this guy rant as the spokesperson for Nypd. Not a smart move, doesn’t help the case.

Have we though? The only evidence of that particular scenario was in 2014 or 2015 related to nyc police trying to prove that if they policed less crime would go up and in fact crime went down. Sometimes people run with an idea and think they will know what will happen without evidence. Look at the protests, how many people on here were shouting that all the criminals were going to come into suburban neighborhoods and rob and loot them? So far that hasn’t proved to be truthful but it was a story that gained traction to try and create chaos.
