This week, doubt has been cast on the allegations of abuse that were made against Michael Jackson in the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland, after Jackson’s biographer found discrepancies in the official timeline.

Author Mike Smallcombe, who wrote the Michael Jackson biography “Making Michael” has investigated the claims made in the film and has found that Neverland ranch was not even built yet during the times that alleged victim James Safechuck says that the abuse took place.

Smallcombe looked into the construction permits for Neverland ranch, and learned that Neverland Ranch was under construction until 1994, but Safechuck claims to have been abused at the ranch by Jackson between the years 1988 and 1992.

This glaring error was dismissed by director Dan Reed, who is saying that the construction date doesn’t make any difference. He has now doubled down on the claims saying that the abuse actually took place later than was first alleged.

The new revelations have caused many of the celebrities who helped make the documentary viral delete all of their old posts about the case, including Oprah.

Neverland Ranch was not built in 1994. I lived in Santa Barbara in 1994 and Neverland Ranch had existed for quite some time prior to that. I want to say late 80's was when he bought an existing ranch and then started converting it into pedo land.

When describing the details of the abuse, Mr Safechuck alleges he was assaulted in an upstairs room in Neverland’s train station, which many will recognise because of its floral clock.

But Mr Smallcombe says this is seemingly impossible, as Mr Safechuck claimed in his lawsuit against Jackson’s Estate that he was abused from 1988 until 1992, when he was 14.

Mr Smallcombe told Mirror Online: "The deficiency in Safechuck’s story is this - construction on Neverland’s train station didn’t start until the latter part of 1993, and it didn’t open until the first part of 1994, when Safechuck was 16.

"So abuse in the train station wasn’t possible if the abuse stopped in 1992, as he claims in his testimony, as it didn't even exist then. There's a two year difference."

Speaking to Mirror Online last week, Mr Smallcombe also claimed that Mr Safechuck lied about refusing to testify for Jackson in his 2005 trial.

It was reported that a judge banned all evidence about Mr Safechuck from the courtroom early on in the trial, as it was unreliable.

A private investigator who worked on the trial, allegedly added that Mr Safechuck was a ‘nonentity’ in the case from the beginning.

I think it's good to recognize possible evidence on both sides, but it seems along with so much other evidence (sheer number of accusers, the two men weren't paid for the documentary, those two men are either great acting non actors when telling their story or it's the truth, MJ showed little sexual interest in adult women or men for that matter but had a new young boy companion per year, etc.) a building permit is not an incontrovertible piece of evidence and a child can hardly be expected to remember exactly what happened in which building at what time. It's not exactly slam dunk MJ is guilty like OJ but the majority of evidence points to it.
