anyone else seen Michael Moore's "F 11/9" movie?

saw it yesterday. a bit underwhelmed in general. decent entertainment but that's about all. i think Mr. Moore is a bit tricky with facts. a very disjointed.

it's not really a Trump movie which i thought it was. it's more like mini-documentaries on a number of subjects.

    here's a run-down:

Trump wants to become a dictator (yes, very obvious... probably not achievable but who knows?). creepy relationship/interaction with daughter (again yes... but what's the signficance?)... some other stuff but i think it all relates to Trump and despotism.

WV teachers strike. i think it was/is a good cause.... .of course, i'm sure our overpaid teachers in canada felt like the WV teachers symbolized their own oppression but it course it's completely different (right to work state vs. semi-socialist province)

Parkland shooting. can't believe Moore could screw this up. or maybe the teenage activists. the male teenage spokesperson/leader seemed very arrogant... in some legislature he says "my generation has to fix the world your generation screwed up"...... no, keep the focus on people being able to buy semi-automatic rifles and why someone needs one?

Flint water crisis... i felt like he didn't explain it properly. why couldn't they switch to clean lake huron water? was it the water source or the pipes that caused the problem? or both?..... he's a bit out there in some of his stuff. unless the water scale is logarithmic, then it sounded like alot of the water samples had double the amount of acceptable lead. Moore acts like it has 100x or 1000x and drinking a few glasses of this water will shorten your life span. anything over is unacceptable but i feel like he milks things and is not honest with the viewer........... he does give trump some credit for Flint water being fixed. skewers obama but the whole thing seemed silly, including obama's action (said he would drink flint water but he just took a tiny sip)

hillary... i can't remember the gist of this other than democratic party politics are completely rigged.. i agree and it's disgusting.

new york congressional primary surprise winner........... i thought she was extremely articulate, quite hot and came across well....... not sure you can implement many of her policies.............. anyway, she came across well but that is definitely not the direction the Dems should go..... NOTE: i'm saying she came across well in Moore's movie, NOT that her policies are sound or that she comes across well in every setting.

moore sums up mostly by saying the Dems have been trying to go the center for years and it hasn't worked at the ballot box (i guess he doesn't count obama's two fairly dominant victories).... he says Dems should go very hard to the left. SO WRONG

lastly, he claims all this corruption, big money etc. is responsible for low voter turnout. i.e. 60% is too low (which i agree with even though it's fairly standard)............ but is any of that actually stopping people from voting? no, they are either too lazy or don't care enough...... one question: is voter turnout higher in close states? i'd never thought of that. i'm thinking people in WV or Cali or Idaho think their presidential vote doesn't matter i.e state will be D or R for certain anyway.

also... he has an interview of the sister of Roy Marble, NBA star from Flint, Michigan.......

if he gets that so wrong (i owned NBA season tix for ten years and watch almost every raptors game and i never heard of this player), makes me wonder about everything else in the movie

ok, answering my own question after a little bit of googling....

voter turnout % seems to correlate positively to "closeness of race" and to a lesser degree to education level and wealth of state. for an example, new york, texas and cali are all in bottom 25% of voter turnout. "closeness of race" is the dominant factor

I saw it, was all over the place. The Flint stuff is infuriating though.

    another question...

he thinks it was awful that west virginia voted its delegates for hillary at the DNC.......... is this new? or have political parties done it for years? i.e. once X person wins the nomination, do some or all states that X person didn't win on voting day just cast their votes for the winning canadidate? i.e. it's an excercise in consensus and "coming together"

ok, the WV democratic delegates is a bit murkier and moore didn't give much detail.

bernie won every county BUT that doesn't mean he'd win every normal delegate. it sounds like it's based on popular vote... and bernie's advantage would have been fairly big but no where near as bit as i would have thought. like 18-11 or something like that.

then hypothetically there were 9 super delegates that all went for hillary............ so hilary won WV....

but i strongly assume that if bernie had won the DNC convention amongst normal delegates that the superdelegates wouldn't have swung it to hilary. i think they just swung WV to hilary because the overall outcome wasn't in doubt.

anyway, get rid of superdelegates. good riddance

lastly moore claimed the electoral college is very unfair and comes from appeasing slavery states ... i don't think so as it correlates highly to population.. sure you can have problems with a bunch of close states supporting X and a few huge states supporting Y.

where his argument makes much more sense is the senate.

haha... i like it............ i always think of how's it's kind of ironic when i call other people constant complainers

didn't realize moore is considered a joke by alot of liberals and moderates......... it makes sense. like i said, it was decent entertainment but it was over the place and didn't tie together at all.

moore's treatment of WV is so strange....... the average voter in WV i guarantee dislikes the policies of that new congress person in New York and liberals in general. but moore makes it seem like they are one and the same.

    Michael Moore...

He trashes America’s healthcare and talks about how unhealthy Americans are. He is filthy rich and can afford any type of food or get any personal trainer... YET HE WEIGHS 300lbs!

He trashes America and the system (he benefited from) YET he owns 9 Mansions and is worth over 50 million.

He acts like a social justice Warrior but is just a big fat hypocrite. He could donate 6 houses and 30 million, still be wealthier than 99% of the population, and help out a lot of people but he doesn’t.

People like him have no problem taking and spending other people’s money...just not their own.

People like him sit in their but and don’t take care of themselves and then they blame others.

    Typical.

I don’t like Hannity but he absolutely owned Michael Moore here. Fast forward to 4:30. He asked Moore to give up some of his wealth and put his money where his mouth was. Moore went silent. Lol.

    Yep.

Liberals assume I’m a “Trumptard” when I point out their hypocrisy and victim mentality....ironic coming from a group that preaches tolerance and acceptance.

Far rightwing nuts call me a liberal when I point out Trumps failures. How can you trash Clinton for years and then when we find out Trump is a pig say, “Well, that’s up to God to judge him...not me”. WTF.

I’m not sure why people can’t just think for themselves. I’m registered Republican but really, Neither party cares about normal folk
like you and I and I disagree with a lot on both sides. Neither side has our interests in mind.

I’ll get into debates with people and they haven’t even thought through their position or even understand their argument. They’re just arguing because their voter card says Democrat or Republican so they feel the need to agree with everything their party does no matter what.

Bipartisan politics is destroying the country.

interesting point........ you think that would work? serious, non-sarcastic question................

i don't know all the kids. the one son seems very snively (and DJT isn't snively, no matter what you think of him). i don't think he'd fly

maybe ivanka....... but i think she would be seriously disliked.

is DJT's 2nd adult son an aggressive defender of his? like the other adult son?

and BTW, i could be seriously wrong..........

    fill in this blank:

Trump wouldn't try to become a dictator because (...........)

i wouldn't consider him trying to run a 3rd time as bad at all........... my vague recollection is obama may have considered it.... is 2 terms in the constitution? i'm thinking no, but don't really know

ok. looks like 2 term limit is amendment ratified in 1951........ not sure what is was before that or what FDR had to do to get the extra terms (obv. war time etc.... but did it require a major political effort to get it done?)
