There were a couple dozen posts in this thread and NONE of them had to do with color until you interjected your black athletes are ghetto rant. Go ahead and mention Trumps wall while you're at it. I don't think you've bashed Mexicans today yet, have you? Get your quota up.

Yep, you sure did put us white people in our place. You also forgot to mention that some of your friends are black.

I don't get triggered. I love to debate. I call out the bullshit. I called you out on your shit a long time ago, before most people realized that you were the biggest racist on this site. You said you were trying to be a Christian, so I thought you would be open to criticism. Now, it's very clear, you don't give a damn. You use this site to spew your hate. Carry on.

This is a strong example of why an NBA player shouldn't be trying to be a political leader or a movement leader. Most of these guys have zero education. Many athletes love to be political and want to be in on all these matters but at the end of the day most have an education level of grade 12. Same reason LeBron trying to be smart is a joke. The guy has zero education but he can slam a basketball so all of a sudden he leads a social revolution. Guy couldn't score an 18 on an ACT guaranteed. I would bet my life on him not scoring a 16 on an ACT, but people buy his bullshit about knowledge on anything.

Well he may have earned but ESPN did a story on this awhile ago.

Depending on the state taxation levels one can assume Garnett walked away with 44% of that total so figure $150mm

He got swindled of $80mm, but let's assume he invested more...

So he's got $70mm over 20 years, which is spending of $3,500,000 per year.

I've seen his Orono MN home and his dumbass car collection. That cost him $6mm easily. Figure his other home is similar so he's got $60mm. The MN property taxes are $100k so assume similar for other property. Now we are looking at about $2.5mm per year in discretionary monies.

If he has to give his wife alimony it's going to cost him $1mm/ yr plus cost of kids.

If he has to pay her a lump sum he would arguably owe $50mm or more. If he had to borrow to get it out would cost him $2.5mm in interest alone.

    He's finished

If you never had money and are a young super star athlete and come into alot of money all at once, good luck with all that..

Everyone you know and grew up with in the hood are broke and they will be looking for hand outs. All these big time Pro athletes have a posse to hang out with also to look cool. Posse's need bling bling and money as well.. Then you wanna look paid and live the high life, impress others so you gotta have the gold chains and diamonds, designer suits, etc. Gotta drive the fancy cars. That mansion you just bought with the huge mortgage isn't peanuts either.. The money goes quickly...

These young pro players live for the present rather then the future.. That's the young mans curse. They never think that those huge pay checks will stop coming in one day.. End up broke and ruined in the end for that... It's sad actually because they had a taste of the good life, now they gotta struggle as older men and live in apartments and maybe even take crap jobs that are embarrassing....

They say - the best way to hurt a rich man is to take away all his money.. Alot of truth to that saying..

Anyways, look at all the big lotto winners that went broke soon after, they get paid big and fast and in the end it's usually a tragic story.. Pro athletes no different in many cases...

KG is not broke. Op this is fake news.

According to Us today he had made over 360 million in salary and wanted to own partially own the Timberwolves at one time. Here is the article from last year: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/twolves/2017/12/11/kevin-garnett-still-wants-own-twolves-just-not-glen-taylor/941425001/

There is several articles out there saying this

Also the Article you are referring to Fats says that the guy and his firm that stole money did this over a period of time so KG is suing him for the allege money stolen. This can be found in the NBC SPORTS ARTICLE TITLED, "Kevin Garnett sues accountant over $77M lost to wealth manage"

Isn't the point of money so that you can exchange it for shit (spend it)? I understand savings but at some point who cares just spend it, or someone else will when you die.

    The guy is broke

1- you don't use businesses and partners that are in jail. Last actions of desperation

2- Garnett has not received nearly 20% of those contract payments. Like Bobby Bonilla he restructured to get paid out over the years (I believe its $5mm year from Boston till 2025 and the Wolves some too....agents and government taking 55% of that

3- he wife is seeking spousal maintenance and the kids will get support payments in the hundreds of thousands

I would not be surprised if, after the divorce, his net worth is under $5mm, including real estate holdings. A sum that will get sucked dry by property taxes by the time hes 50.... ex wives, kids, taxes and lifestyle living kill any windfall financially

No you'd spread it around different institutions/types of securities. You'd be an idiot to have a single point of failure for all of your money. That goes for pretty much anyone with any kind of decent savings.
