To say that he served his country and is therefore a hero is simple minded.... to state that he lived up to the code of conduct and all honorable measures and heroic expectations while serving is more accurate. His detractors will say he talked while beaten, that he disclosed intelligence to get treatment, etc, and I don't know if it's true or not, but serviceman McCain was honorable, Senator McCain, however, does not get that mushy treatment and I think with good cause....that's maybe where the disconnect comes in.
