    july 4th- dogs nightmare day

    my dog is going to spend the next 4 hours pacing and worrying

    can a dog have benzos?

    but 1mg per 10 lbs of body weight

    in chicago July 4 is more like 4 weeks of fireworks and extra in the air gunfire, not 4 hrs. so just give the pup a peanut butter kong every 30 mins and a place to hide under while you keep em company.

    ride it out

    drugs aren't the best answer

    next year plan ahead, buy the pup a thunder shirt, and if you feel drugs are really necessary go to vet well before hand.

    spent weeks homeless before being in a shelter. i rescued her and shes an angel, havent used a leash in years

    i've had a few friends swear by CBD oil for all sorts of issues

    and a few others that said their dog did not react well at all with any type of cannabinoids

    human prescribed drugs are not a good fit for animals, the dosage for humans is likely higher than it would be for animals and can actually do more harm than good, if not done right, it could unfortunately be fatal.

    I am with Shari in saying try the thunder shirt next year and go to the Vet well in advance to prep for it.

    Hope today is going better for the pooch!
