    Chicago pizza or NY pizza

Ok what kind of pizza do you guys prefer chicago style pizza or new york style pizza? I like chicago the veggies and cheese is great. NY style taste like cheese on a cardboard.

They are both distortions gotten out of hand,
a trend of a few restaurants became the moniker
for these largest cities, unfortunately... because the
best pizza is neither too thin nor too thick.

Great answer! A truly good NY style pizza is not too thin. Most Chicago style pizza I have had is usually too thick for my taste.

Haven't had great chicago pizza to be honest. I like my coal fired new haven pizza. Better than NY pizza or greek (deep dish) pizza.

I went to a famous place in Chicago, highly rated, and the pizza was disgusting which I did not expect. The problem was it wasn't pizza, it was a disc of sausage about as thick as a hockey puck with a little bit of bread and delicious tasting pizza sauce.

If these are the only choices I'll go Chicago. I like the Sicilian middle
    of the road option best.

In other related pizza and sports topics did you know that before Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys he graduated from University of Arkansas in 1965, he borrowed a million dollars from Jimmy Hoffa's Teamsters union to open up a string of Shakey's Pizza Parlor restaurants in Missouri that failed. Shakey's Pizza was founded inSacramento, California, on April 30, 1954, it was the first franchise pizza chain in the United States.

I like both. Don't really eat bread anymore though.

You guys should try couliflower crust pizza.

White bread is just like eating pure sugar.

I don't even consider Chicago style as pizza. It's not bad, it's just a little strange. And I've been to the famous Chicago spots and enjoyed it. Very different pizza experience.

That said - if you want good pizza, stay out of Manhattan. Thanks to the bars and moronic drunk kids who frequent them, cheap shite 99cent slice joints have put the remaining mom and pops out of business.

Best traditional by slice or pie pizza now found in the outerboroughs, Westchester/Long Island.

New Haven pizza concept is gay.

please bro, I've been to NYC with locals bringing me to best spots many times. Tell me your spot and I'll try it but New Haven wins until further notice. But I'm guessing you've never been to New Haven.

cauliflower crust pizza is a shit ton of work to make.

NYC pizza is my favorite. Considering the rest of NY makes crap pizza, the only NY style I recognize is in the 5 boroughs and Long Island.

Chicago is definitely the more gluttonous choice of the two.

chicago isn't all deep dish. deep dish is a tourist trap. also, just because you ate some shitty local deep dish pizza in another state with crap ingredients doesn't mean you've tried legit chicago pizza. go to lou malnatis, not giordanos, for good deep. get the italian beef thin crust from vito and nicks on the south side. then tell me chicago pizza sucks. salernos and pizanos have pretty good thin too.

    from wikipedia:
There is also a style of thin-crust pizza found in Chicago and throughout the rest of the Midwest. The crust is thin and firm enough to have a noticeable crunch, unlike a New York-style pizza. This pizza is cut into squares, also known as a party cut or tavern cut,[12][13] as opposed to a pie cut into wedges. Among locals, thin-crust actually outsells the more widely known deep-dish style.

lol that is where I went and it was strange because of the piece of sausage. I don't know if it was normal or what but the deep dish literally had a puck of sausage that filled the inside of the pizza. It was thick too. The crust was great and the sauce was awesome but it was more like sausage with pizza as a topping.

That is true about the 99 cent places. I went to one of those and it was 2 Indian guys making the pizza. Lol. It was so bad it was like dough with a little bit of cheese and straight tomato paste. It was the worst pizza ever. Don't ever buy pizza from Indians. Always try and look who is making it. But in general New York does have the best pizza.
