when I served it was 2 years mandatory...they draft you right after you finish high school

right now it's a year mandatory and you can do another year or two on contract if you wanna kill a few birds in Syria

it definitely teaches you how to love your homeland and be man...at 18 you grow up fast in that kind of environment
