Subway is garbage...wouldn't go there if they gave the food out for free...most of their shit is processed meats, not the real McCoy...also be wary of their steak and cheese subs...half the time the meat has been sitting there for days and they use it until it's all gone!...this leads to contamination and mild food poising...the shit has a green'ish tint to it, is dried out, and they mix it in with the fresh or new batch if they don't sell the old stuff out!...not to mention they skimp on their meats!...

Jimmy Johns...very good, a tad pricey, but put ample meat on subs...you can even request double meat...overall good bang for your buck if your hungry and craving a sub.

Firehouse Subs...vastly overrated...skimp on their meats, but delicious...very pricey also...overall, not worth it...the quality doesn't match the prices.

Jersey's Mike...never been there and don't have any in our immediate area

wawa...probably the best bang for your buck...good italian cold cuts, meatballs, and tunafish subs...very affordable and reasonably priced in the $6 - 7...lots of free fixings and toppings available.

Rixie's...local chinese restaurant that specializes in American food as well...by far and away the best cheesesteak!...a footlong for $9.95 but they use ribeye steak and they overstuff it!....add some hots, mayo, provolone cheese and you got the best damn sub in the history of mankind!...my personal favorite...

Giolitti's...another local ma and pa Italian restaurant...a tad pricey but the best meatball, sausage and pepper, italian cold cut, subs around!...not to mention Italian dishes like lasagna, chicken, veal, eggplant parmesan, spaghetti, etc!...I'm regular there as well and it's local favorite in the Annapolis area...a little expensive but excellent quality and great food!...well worth it!...

Subway and jimmy johns use frozen donkey dick bread, not sure about the others, if I want I sandwich in the Htown area I hit up Katz's or Kenny and Ziggy's...or I get gangster and buy some boars head and specialty bread from HEB and make my own killer sammy...

First of all subway is cheap. That's why I go there. Your not going to get a godam gourmet sandwich for 5 bucks sorry. All these people complaining about it. What do you expect? You get what you pay for and subways sandwiches are pretty dam good for the price.

Tried them for the first time last night, my sandwich didn't look anything like that picture, not even close. Not bad but not as good as Jersey Mikes.

^^...that's exactly what I said in my post!...firehouse subs definitely skimps on their meats...very misleading and fraudulent advertising...they don't look anywhere as good as the pics and you don't get that amount of meat...however, they are not bad tasting and rather delicious...just wish they'd give you a tad more of the good stuff.

Amazing to see people actually eating at Subway here in Toronto. With all the great Italian and Jewish sandwich shops to choose from, just amazing.

Any real sub shop is gonna be better then subways.. It's just like any real burger joint is gonna be better then Carls Jr burgers..

It's called fast food.. You get in and you get out and hope and pray you aren't sitting on the toiled 2 hours later unloading your guts.. ..

I didn't like subway 30 years ago and still don't. Now they are closing stores all over the place.

Better sandwiches at any local place... best national chair for subs was Blimpie IMO

Everyone can bad mouth Subway all they want... but if you're trying to lose some pounds... probably the easiest diet to live by... and it doesn't get that boring.

Roasted Chicken Breast... no cheese... no dressing. Weight comes right off.

Sandwich was average. Maybe my fault for ordering it hot instead of cold.

    Chili was good.

I'll stick with Jersey Mike's moving forward.

Tuna Fish starts the spoiling process after 48 hours once the can is open (even with refrigeration.) Can only imagine how long it was sitting out for use.

Had the seafood poisoning before... you feel like death.

Having not been to a sub shop in about 30 years, I was naïve.

I walked into a Subway and asked for a large Italian sub (no
hot stuff), just like we used to do at Santoro’s.

The attendant had a bit of a puzzled look on him and I was
not sure if he spoke English.

He didn’t say anything, so I assumed he would simply make
    the sub.

I walked outside to get some air and give him time to make
    the sub.

About 10 minuets later I re-entered thinking I would simply
    thank the man and pay.

The guy was simply standing there looking at me, and then
    asked “what kind of bread?”

I said a regular sub roll will do, but there was a variety I
    had to choose from.

He the proceeded to ask me what kind of meat, what kind of
cheese, do you want this or that kind of vegetable.

I realized that the good ole days had passed me by. I
    thanked the man and left.

Given up on fast foood for a while. Occasionally on a drunken late night I break down and hit jack in the box. Always regret it for multiple reasons. Haven't had subway since high school. And that was long long ago.
