A man who was attending a memorial for victims of gun violence was fatally shot at a Brooklyn park early Sunday, authorities and witnesses said. Daquan Spencer, 30, was at the event inside Scarangella Park near Stillwell Ave. and Avenue V when someone started shooting around 1:30 a.m. The man was struck multiple times, including in the head and torso, cops said. He died at Coney Island Hospital. Witnesses said Spencer was attending a candlelight memorial in remembrance of several people who died from gun violence — all of whom were under the age of 27. The memorial was one of several events happening in the park at the time of the shooting, which included a birthday party and a basketball game. It’s believed there was some intermingling between the attendees prior to the shooting. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
