Yeah, this is practically elevator music with vocals... not the band I grew to love.

^^^ Good shit, Brooks. That version is so much better than the album cut, especially the outro solo.

The entire Slane Concert is amazing... John Frusciante will always be the soul of the band, even in absence.

"Other Side" was another great moment from Slane... John's harmonies are godlike.

I think the RHCP have been spending too much time at Gurmukh's Kundalini yoga classes. This type of music has a more transcending type of vibe. I couldn't even finish either song.

I too, like the rest of you will always prefer the old RHCP.

oh it is, I remember when I first got my hands on the dvd I had it on replay constantly. The whole thing is just perfect.

and yeah, album cut is solid but I don't even listen to it and haven't in many, many years. No reason to with this live version.

Band will never be the same without John know matter how much they try to showcase Flea.. Still, one of the best bands ever..

The latest song of theirs getting radio airplay is even worse. The only instrument I could pick out is an electronic keyboard. Sounds more like something Moby would do than the Peppers.

I hope they dont play much of this new junk on their tour.

Not dissing them but I always liked Nick Cave's quote "Seems like I'm always pointing at a speaker asking 'What is this horrid shit we're listening to?' And the answer is always 'The Red Hot Chilli Peppers'."

who the hell is nick cave?

a nobody according to wiki and his songs on youtube are below average, I just checked so it is funny he used the words horrid shit considering what I just listened to. Honestly comical, glad you posted his quote considering he is insanely jealous that he isn't half as talented as Kiedis.

What bothers me is why this band is touring with opening acts, amateur hour. Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen are playing 3 hour shows and RHCP certainly have enough material.
