Hospital in Florida killing BABIES, gets reprieve after $200k donation to Republicans

St. Marys Medical Center in West Palm Beach Florida performs high risk newborn heart surgeries and has an ABYSMAL track record. Recently, enough outraged parents that had kids die in that hospital and paralyzed in that hospital, all at the hands of one Dr. Michael Black, contacted the media who ran this story on and off for the last year or so.

Turns out, St. Marys Med Center asked for an independent investigation so the state of Florida sent in a team full of pediatric surgeons. They shredded the entire hospital, the surgeon, the system, everything. The root cause they said was the St. Marys only performed 23 of these highly technical procedures a year, less than two a month, while 80% of all other hospitals in the US doing these same procedures do 100+ per year.

So the state of Florida imposed standards and St. Marys shut down the program

Now, Tentant Healthcare, the parent company that owns St. Marys, just donated $200,000 to Republican law makers, specifically Gov. Rick Scott.

And the state of Florida has decided to get rid of those standards

    WTF??????

The judge that ruled in favor of getting rid of these standards should be shot dead in the middle of the street. He allowed another doctor to continue practicing after he was accused of beating and handcuffing a patient in a year long sexual relationship.

It's sad that one person can be on the take, get bought out by others who only see money, and then kids die. That's our system. The American way

This article is simply the tip of the iceberg for this case

For the record, I don't think Rick Scott being a Republican is that important. He's a businessman first, not a public servant.

Only reason I mention this is so this doesn't turn into another R vs D thread, plenty of those

This is bigger than that, kids dying because our system is one that allows politicians to be purchased by big corps
