Do you have to be a resident in that state prior to opening?

I see the application fee is $5,000

and licenses and other initial start up fees can tack on an extra 7,000 to 15,000

But how much are we talking to get started ?

i see that regulations require that each dispensary grow atleast 70% of its own product

can this grow house be on your own personal home property?

You're forgetting "protection" money to keep the place going and at least 10k for attorney retainers. Don't kid yourself that this is a fully legal industry you get into easily. Hard to say if it's easier to dodge the DEA or the underworld types who will give you a visit to offer their "protection" services aka you pay them and they don't beat the hell out of you and take it anyways or just burn your shop down.

Be be smart and be safe. This is not a venture for soft types.

    Thanks Ted,

I have read where Colorado is not taking any more applications until 2016.

My thoughts are that I have missed the boat in Colorado but I know there will be more states to legalize for recreational use so I am looking at possibly seeing what it takes to be one of the first dispensaries to open in one of the new legal recreational states

possible states that could be next

    Idaho
    Montanna
    Arizona
    Nevada
    California
    Vermont
    Maine
    Massachusetts

the south east is cool with guns and liqour but not natural plants apparently.

No problem Big Bear, next week when you ask "who here is an electrician" might as well skip the thread and just PM, because I'm an electrician, a plumber, tree removal service, lawn mower, financial advisor, OTR trucker. Keep dreaming big buddy.
