My family is from Minnesota, and I actually had a Bar & Grill, that also had live bands on weekends that was located in the heart of the entertainment district in downtown Minneapolis in the 1990's, before moving on to other parts of the world taking on other professional business opportunities. I also had a popular nightclub at the same time called South Beach that was one block down from the bar in the photos, and across the street from the Fine Line Music Cafe.
Downtown Minneapolis was a real happening place in this time period, but from what I understand now, the area is no longer safe, as gangs and the crime that goes with that lifestyle has destroyed the downtown area, as people are scared to go out at night in fear of being shot despite a strong police presence, which is very sad.
I will be very surprised if Spearmint Rhino survives long term, as the overhead in that club is going be outrageous, especially so, because of its size. Minneapolis does not have the people to support a club of this size, as it is going to have to rely soly on locals to support it. It also has quite a bit of competition with the other stripclubs in the downtown area, and there are many. I wish them luck.
