    Animal owners check in

    Not a big deal...just noticed that I've put this to PT..probably saloon this shit

    Just wanna know about the experience... have a cat who's gonna get her teeth pulled in a few days...how do they react? Doc says stick to the same food regiment, but I don't see her chewing anything after those 3 teeth being removed

    things like that fellas...nothing to serious

    three dogs and two are older and had to have teeth removed. Bigday with some good advice. You can also buy the soft, canned cat food.

    For dog owners, if your dog does not mind you brushing their teeth, you can take a very small flat chisel and lightly run it over the plaque. I clean my lab's teeth about once a year this way and they look puppy white when I am done.

    Yep. I did that for a while. Sh!t's expensive.

    I love my pups and feed them good dry food (PurinaOne Lamb&Rice) but that soft food is spendy

    I would post a photo of my totally bad ass cat acquired as a kitten last sept..... you won't believe this, but much like my woman, I think this cat may be the best f'n cat on the planet..... Beautiful, smart, idiosyncratic, makes me smile every day.....

    I'd post a photo of her, but JJ said no more "pussy" photos or I'm banned........

    My 10 year old dog is going through a lot of health problems right now and they still can't figure out whats wrong with him. I've had him since he was a puppy and he's never been sick and the past few weeks he's had some serious problems.

    From my understanding though, if the animal is older they really need to have blood tests pre-anesthesia to check liver and kidney functions to see if their organs can handle the anesthesia. My Dog had blood tests and his liver enzymes are sky high and so he can't have any anesthesia because they said he could easily die because his liver couldn't rid it out of his body.

    yup, my cat had all the blood work done prior to the surgery as well and they've found that her thyroid levels were kinda high (apparently it affects about 75% of the cats over 10 y.o.)
    the good news is there is a radioactive Iodin treatment available that only cost about a grand...and supposedly it helps 9 out 10 cats who experienced this problem with thyroid.

    animals are not humans and they cannot complain when something is hurting them...that's why we, the owners, have to be more proactive and check on them all the time.
