One Billion dollars is my opening bid.

I think it's a foregone conclusion they get sued, if I understand correctly that most of these photos were hacked from the iCloud. Microsoft likely to be used as well then as the ICloud is actually their platform just not sure whose, if either, responsible for security.

Whether they're found guilty, settle or found non-guilty is another story and will likely be decided by our Supreme Court and will be a right to privacy issue

Anyone think it goes over a billion dollars???

I still don't understand why people would save private pictures like this. It isn't like a celeb's phone hasn't been hacked before.

I can see over a Billion dollars.

Apple released a statement saying the breech did not come from the cloud...which also makes since because a lot of the photos take were from android phones( which don't use thr cloud)

    They didn't save the pictures.

In most cases they were deleted very soon after they were taken.

The celebs thought they were gone but they got saved in iCloud's network.

Let me admit I'm not 100% sure it was an ICloud hack, so what Runner is saying may be very correct.

My post is based on the assumption it was an iCloud hack as that is what I read today.

I haven't been keeping up with the whole deal anymore than perusing the pics a few times

As for what the ICloud is, I have no frickin clue. I've got a brother in law that is in management at Microsoft and he oversees the ICloud platform project, which I found intriguing. I'm still not sure the relationship between Microsoft and the ICloud other than there is a connection somehow.

As runner said wasn't just an apple/icloud issue, as was people with android phones. So lawsuit will be hard til they find out source or catch people

That's what they are saying, that they used simple passwords to get in.

Those "celebrities" are morons for keeping anything they consider sensitive, on a hd connected to ANY network. Its not like they couldnt cough up the dough for a secure set up. Most are attention whores and I put all the blame on them. If I'm a judge, cases are tossed, with letters going out to everyone involved describing the simple steps that could have been taken to prevent this.

Yep, use the 'forgot my password' route....just hack emails which are easier targets and then have icloud or whatever service 'resend my password' to the email by only entering in maiden name, mothers name, high school attended etc - simple public record stuff and then grab it from the email and you're in. Also easy if you find out the AppleID and then login same basic way.

And if they read the Apple Terms of Service its obvious there is no 'guarantee' things cant be taken...otherwise Apple opens themselves up to lawsuits from the jump. Standard contract.

I said I have no frickin clue.

Beyond that, my career has been built upon spin. Sure, maybe I have no clue what I'm doing or talking about but I'm gonna tell it to you in a way that makes that clear without admitting it or maybe I'll just lie my ass off and make you believe I'm the resident expert on the Icloud. However, I figured with Russian Rocket lurking, that wasn't a wise choice as he would've seen through my rouse.

Now one thing I have always been very good at is assertiveness

    so go fukk yourself
