doesn't obama always push education? not sure what he's actually done other than talk about it. in places in chicago, for some kids its too dangerous to walk to school. we (my fellow americans and the govt) need to do a much better job with education.

It all boils down to the quality of education in the US and a failure among parents to not only recognize problems but actively do something about it.

you can still sample a large population and get accurate assessments. That is a valid point though. Not sure what to make of the article. Everyone seems intelligent in this thread with the exception of gengis khan who proves there are dumb people in america. jk
