How was your wisdom teeth removal experience? I'm a little bit nervous because I need to get rid of my 4 wisdom teeth and I'm scheduled for extraction on Friday.

SAN DIEGO – A San Diego entrepreneur died after a routine dental procedure in Temecula, his family said Monday. Marek Lapinski, 25, died on March 21 when he underwent a procedure to extract two wisdom teeth.
Lapinski was the vice president and part owner of San Diego-based Tactical 3D Dimensions, company that develops software and hardware for night vision devices. Marek’s bright future was cut short after he went to see Dr. Steven Paul, an oral surgeon in Temecula, for wisdom teeth surgery.
Natalie Lapinski told Fox 5 that her brother had been nervous about the surgery in the first place.
“He was so scared to get this done,” she said. “That morning, he texted me and said ‘I’m going in. I’ll call you when I’m out.’ I never heard from him again.”
Marek’s family provided Fox 5 with his medical records. The ambulance report by American Medical Response showed Marek was undergoing surgery when he began to cough.
“When he coughed they administered propofol and that’s when he went into cardiac arrest,” his mother, April Lapinski, said.
He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died. The ambulance report also noted a piece of gauze was found in Marek’s airway.
“I was told by the hospital they weren’t sure if this was all caused from him choking on a piece of gauze,” she said. “Somebody was not paying attention at some point.”
Natalie Lapinski, who is a nurse, said in examining Marek’s medical records, she found her brother was given at least six different sedatives by the surgeon.

“In talking to the nurse at the hospital, from what they told me, he was given way too much anesthesia,” his sister said.
“The pulmonary doctor at the hospital told me it looked like an overdose to him,” said April Lapinski. “He had no health issues we were aware of. This was very strange and unexpected.”

Had mine pulled when I was 18; all four at once with two being impacted. wasn't really bad, I was put out and by the next day I was okay except for a but are soreness when eating/brushing.

I have never heard of anyone before the age of 12 getting wisdom teeth pulled. Everyone that I know including family and friends that had them pulled was around 18 or older. I don't even think that wisdom teeth are fully formed at age 12.

Can't say JoJo cuz I never went through the experience BUT I'm sure everything will go just fine.

Setting aside your initial fears, just view it logically: It's a common procedure (millions done per year) with less than 1% chance of anything going harmfully awry.

I'm sure CR stats are similar; other than some discomfort for a few days, it's a low risk procedure. Or, IOW, Brock Landers has about a million more likely chance of picking a winner and ya know THAT never happens!

Just dont go under like Marek Lapinski. I was awake during my 4 extractions. The tops come out really easy but the bottoms have to be broken off your jaw so those kinda hurt like a bitch. Swollen jaw for a few days and the vicodin took care of the pain.

I was awake when mine were pulled. THe numbing medicine worked well(with laughing gas) but the crackling noise I heard while they were being pulled was kind of creepy. Hurt for a day or two after and really couldnt eat much but after that no biggie.

never had it done. lots of people in my family have but not me...yet. dentist once looked at an xray of my teeth after a routine cleaning and said my god you have terrible teeth, when all my life people have praised my teeth. never have had one cavity until recently. and i brush once a day. but its for 10 minutes of scrubbing and then tongue scraper (indian kind). anyway that dentist said my teeth were impacted and they needed to be pulled out. but my uncle , surgeon, said that guy is a money hungry ole' prick , he said the same thing to my kid. until you experience pain dont worry about it. and i havent since.

gl to you though jojo. from what i discern from my relatives it was not bad at all . just hurts later on for a couple of days and you have to take pain medication (depending on yur tolerance i guess).

I had mine out when I was around 25. They gave me novacane, and they basically move the tooth back and forth, like a fence post, til it is loose and then they pull it out. Its a bit weird after to have a hole when your tooth used to be, but you will be fine after a few days.

i had a family friend dentist pull all 4 them out at once.

that's actually not recommended but i doubt he gave a fukk.

he gave me local anesthetic and started yanking away.

when my teeth didn't cooperate, he used a hammer and a chisel.

let's just say he destroyed all my wisdom teeth out.

Had mine pulled in my thirties. I was freaking out before hand BUT it was SO much easier than I thought. Pain pills definitely did the trick, there really wasn't a whole lot to it. Lots of worry for nothing in retrospect.

Had all 4 out when I was a kid. 3 were impacted. This was over 20 years ago. Was knocked out completely; woke up, mouth hurt like hell afterwards for a couple hours, but everything went smooth.

Jonelyn, nothing to worry about. I had all four pulled when I was 19 and was awake. Make sure you get the laughing gas while they do the procedure. I was joking with the nurse and oral surgeon during the procedure. I'm sure I was the only one who thought I was funny (so in that respect not much was different) but it was actually not much worse than getting a cavity filled. The pain didn't hit me until a few hours afterwards but they gave me plenty of perks to keep me smiling. You will be completely fine!

Next one is don't let Loshak take u to the appointment or that freaky circus sex Dozer dude. You will wake up half way thru the anesthesia to find out u r part of a viral internet sex video with either/both of those dudes and some midgets (and/or JJ). GL.

buy lots of mash potatoes, yogurt, re-fried beans, jello, and any other soft foods you can think of. also, purée everything and just drink it. good luck!

I think going to the dentist for a cleaning when you have a cavity is much worse, I didnt think having my wisdom teeth removed was bad at all jonelyn. Just alot of tugging. Can be a hassle for a few days afterwards.

I just had two done at one time, but I can see why some people go ahead and get all four taken out. Dont play around with the dentists instructions after the extraction and smoke or do anything to get the wound infected after the extraction, needs to heal and cover up.
