At what point is it that we have sheltered them too much? Today there was a bomb threat at my oldest son's school. (high school/jr high combined). We live in a very small town (three stoplights total and the third one is fairly new). OVerall very low crime, you know who the drug dealers are, the drunks, the pedos, etc. Kids can play outside by themselves, ride bikes or walk around town, walk home from school by themselves etc. Hell, the last murder was over 9 years ago I think.

So a bomb threat at the school is a pretty big deal.

Tongiht after we were given the all clear from the school, the kids were apprehended, and everything has kind of died down we take our son to get his bike and his books. He proceeds to tell us "nothing like that could ever happen here".

Makes me wonder, what is the point in which we have sheltered our kids too much?
