    Anybody know anything about transmissions?

    Apparently my Honda Accord needs a new transmission. Lowest quote i got was $1,150 but it's going to take 5 days. Anybody here have any experience wih this?

    Price sounds about right. But don't go with cheapest. Ask the most expensive guy why you should use him, and he will probably say something like he replaces all wear parts automatically or something like that. Then ask the cheaper guys if they do the same. You don't really want to skimp on an auto tranny rebuild as the labor is most of it. So you dont want to do it twice.

    are you sure its completely shot?? GO buy some lucas transmission repair fluid. try that and see if it helps. ITS THICK AND RED

    I have trouble accelerating from a neutral position. Tachymeter really revs up. Fluid looks good. I got another quote for $950.

    thats cheap my dodge cost 2300 and my father in laws 99 van cost 1800
