Absolutely, only thing that might be worth looking into beside it is the new note coming out - but that is one helluva large phone - basically a tablet that can make calls.

For a reasonably sized phone, that is better than anything stateside currently - the III is worth every penny.

Worth even more when you root it, and turn it into a free mobile hot spot.

if the build quality were better and it wasn't blue, i would've already bought it. already hearing rumors about the s4, sheesh.

waiting to see the note 2 and the next nexus phone.

I had the first galaxy, my girl has the galaxy 2 - I have the most recent Nexus. As much as I like the streamlined google experience that the Nexus provides, the hardware is not on the same level as the galaxy series. Although - the samsung nexus something or other was interesting.

Anyway - the blue does slightly bother me too, not enough to not buy it - because I protect my phones and they all end up being black anyway.

I am now on the Note 2 bandwagon, and am waiting for it to officially drop before I purchase anything. Kinda skeptical about the size, but if I can somehow get past that - it is a no brainer as far as specs/hardware.

Rooting a quad core note would be incredible.

I also heard it is planning to be on T-mobile - are you hearing this at all?

i wouldn't count on anything where t-mobile is concerned tbh. the at&t debacle is keeping them on the brink despite their best marketing efforts, i hope they survive personally.

I cannot stand ATT, I would have to purchase without contract then. Shitty.

Luckily ATT is GSM, so the jailbreak would be very easy.

I had a dell streak running a previous version of android (I since trashed the phone by accident and am onto something else) and didn't have to root it to run the mobile hotspot. Wasn't that a feature within all versions of android after 2.1?

Yeah, a hot spot has been around for a while - however rooting it allows you free access to it, instead of the $29.99 a month or more it costs without rooting.

hacking the phone in so many words, taking off all the restrictions the company puts on the device - allows you to realize the full potential of it.

Kinda like taking a governor off a hot rod.
