Former NAACP leader accuses Sharpton and Jackson of ‘exploiting’ Trayvon Martin

Former NAACP leader C.L. Bryant is accusing Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton of “exploiting” the Trayvon Martin tragedy to “racially divide this country.”
“His family should be outraged at the fact that they’re using this child as the bait to inflame racial passions,” Rev. C.L. Bryant said in a Monday interview with The Daily Caller. The conservative black pastor who was once the chapter president of the Garland, Texas NAACP called Jackson and Sharpton “race hustlers” and said they are “acting as though they are buzzards circling the carcass of this young boy.”Jackson, for example, recently said Martin’s death shows how “blacks are under attack” and “targeting, arresting, convicting blacks and ultimately killing us is big business.” (SEE ALSO: Jesse Jackson says Trayvon Martin ‘murdered and martyred’)George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, killed Martin, a 17-year-old black man who was unarmed at the time of his death, last month. Zimmerman has claimed to have shot Martin in self-defense and has not been charged with a crime. But Bryant, who explores the topic of black-on-black crime in his new film “Runaway Slave,” said people like Jackson and Sharpton are being misleading to suggest there is an epidemic of “white men killing black young men.”“The epidemic is truly black on black crime,” Bryant said. “The greatest danger to the lives of young black men are young black men.”Bryant said he wishes civil rights leaders were protesting those problems.“Why not be angry about the wholesale murder that goes on in the streets of Newark and Chicago?” he asked. “Why isn’t somebody angry about that six-year-old girl who was killed on her steps last weekend in a cross fire when two gang members in Chicago start shooting at each other? Why is there no outrage about that?”Bryant said he worries that “people like Sharpton and those on the left” will make Martin’s death a campaign issue in the presidential race.He speculated that they will “turn this evolving tragedy of this young man into fodder to say… if you don’t re-elect Obama then you will have unbridled events or circumstances like this happening in the streets to young men wearing hoodies.” (RELATED: Herman Cain criticizes ‘swirling rhetoric’ after Martin shooting)He also criticized President Obama for his “nebulous statement” responding to Martin’s death that “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”“What does that mean?” Bryant asked. “What was the purpose in that?”

What if Trayvon's shooter had been black?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -- One local mother who is reached out to the mother of Trayvon Martin, the slain Florida teen, is raising some potentially controversial questions.
Andrea Long knows well the feeling of loss Martin's mother is feeling. She lost two of her sons, Josh Davis and Terry Long in 2008.
The two brothers were murdered by a childhood friend.
While her heart breaks for Trayvon's death, "my heart goes out to Trayvon's momma," she said. "Because I am her."
But Long also wondered, "if he would have been black, and shot Trayvon [Martin], you think we would have known?"
It has Long wanting to know why black-on-black crime doesn't galvanize Black America the way the killing of Trayvon Martin has.
"We have become adjusted to black-on-black crime in the Black community," she said. "Even though it was a tragedy, [Trayvon Martin] was a stranger. Why won't you sit and march for "Mike-Mike" who you went to school with and y'all graduated together?"
Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchmen, who thought the teen was acting suspicious.
Since his death, protests have been held across the country with thousands demanding justice for the killing.
Long fears it would have been a different story if both the victim and shooter had been black.
"We get out there with moms of murdered offspring, throw a few candles up, cry, hug, wet up each other T-shirts, bury them and call it a day," she said. "It can't be that way."
Since the death of her sons, Long has become a community activist who works closely with CMPD.
The solution, she said, is to focus on the crime, not the race.
"The public has missed the whole point," she said. "They have made this a race war when it should be, 'why do 17 teen year olds keep dying'?"
Long said she is planning to travel to Sanford, Florida next week to meet with Martin's mom.

Was hanging out with a black on Saturday and After the bulls game, the trayvon martin thing came on the news...He said he could give a fukk less about the kid and what happened.

I had a feeling not every black person gives a shit...I'm guessing most of the blacks with jobs and better things to do than sit around and jerk off don't really give a shit, because they have better things to worry about, like supporting their family.

Ironic how we happen to be approaching a presidential election with a black man running for office and Sharpton and Jackson suddenly resurface with their race driven nonsense. Last time we heard from Sharpton and Jackson was ironically in 2007 with the Jena 6 racial driven nonsense when we again happened to have a black man running for office.

    Isn't Obama White?

The black people keep saying Zimmerman is white (the racist ones at least), So wouldn't that Make Obama White as well? So those dumbfukks keep saying "OHHHH WE FINALLY GOT A BLACK PRESIDENT", is he really black? And if so would that make Zimmerman mexican?

Of course they are. It's the same deal for 30 years. Sure there are some cases of real injustice, and this may be one of them, but the so called black leaders have ruined the credibility of anyone associated with them.
