I've always used Expedia.com and had great luck finding really low airfare.

Not sure, there was this site that i had before that gave you the best deals for that day specifically. But if you want a specific destination, the well known names are probably your best bet.

use kayak or bing...they are bigger search engines that use all those other online travel sites (expedia, orbitz, travelocity....)

That being said, I just booked from Chicago to San Diego, cheapest I could find on those 2 sites were 265 round trip. Got it for 231 on Southwest airlines straight through their site.

Theres the prices for December. Alot cheaper to go in the beginning of the month and not toward all the holidays which I'm sure you already know get much pricier.

ngates i am also flying from chicago to san diego (packers/chargers action).

too bad i have to go from the slums of midway since southwest doesn't fly out of ohare...

EXACTLY ONE DAY after i booked $115 each way non-stop (expedia/orbitz/etc are $400+ with stops) the price went down to $89 and i got a price adjustment (as a credit)!!

so the lesson is keep checking the major stuff but also check southwest often, they have NO CHANGE FEES, NO BAGGAGE FEES, and they're often ridiculously cheaper

I usually get the best price from just going to the airline websites.

If you're lucky enough to be in a city that uses Southwest you really can't beat them.

    jesus...89 is dirt cheap.

I hate Midway, but for 70 bucks cheaper than I saw for American Airlines out of O'hare I couldn't pass it up.

Just checked the prices again...they do have some for 89 the day I'm leaving and coming back, but they aren't non-stop and the flight times don't match up too good for me. I'll have to keep an eye on that, thanks.
