    hlp w/ a pos computer

    this thing use to be great , my dell laptop w FiOS service, now w/in the past couple months it SSUUCCKKKSSS, to put it in the trash would be inhumane to trash,...super slow, ..I have checked and done simple task, still it remains slow....100% sure there is no virus...any help would be appreciated...takes 4 ever to post any

    Could be several things. Not enough RAM, do you have any meters or gauges to check real-time RAM usage? It is easy to upgrade RAM, assuming you aren't already maxed out on amount of RAM it will accommodate. You could have too many processes running at the same time. The laptop could be overheating. If it's slow and freezing up a lot, it could mean that the hard drive is ready to fail. That's the problem I'm having at the moment.

    My hard drive is on the verge of failure, bunch of bad sectors. I've been trying to make sure everything is backed up.

    download ccleaner. run it...clears some of the junk out
