The title of this thread says it all, canadians are so stupid they don't know the difference between race and nationality!
The only thing stupid here is the poster.

True, California and Canada have the same population. The US has over 300 million people, Canada has roughly 33 million people. Here's where you go wrong. You're using the 3rd most populated country in the world, the US, when comparing population's to Canada. Obviously there's going to be a huge discrepancy. You do realize that behind China and India, the US is the most populated country in the world, right? You can make the same trivial comparisons to other industrialized nations such as England, Spain, Germany, Australia, Sweden, France, Italy, Russia, Denmark, the list goes on and on.

By the way, the stench of ignorance in your post is overwhelming. I don't mind Americans in general, but when I come across redneck garbage like you and your grade 8 education, you just can't sit there idle and take shit from someone who's never left their own area code.

I think that it is because a lot of Canada is French. How can anyone take French people serious? They start shaking and crying at the first sight of a thunderstorm!

Being neither American, nor Canadian, but having spent some time in both, I would say Canadians often have an inferiority complex, somehow feeling US is superior and thus constantly search for reasons to prove themselves otherwise. As an example I would point out the Winter Olympics last year, when Canada invested heavily in their "own the podium" program (in complete contrast to the Olympic principles, which emphasize participation) because they felt this is somehow an opportunity to also prove they are relevant in the world. When they couldn't quite own the podium, they of course used the fact that they won the most gold medals to point superiority. As if success in winter sports somehow tells something about a country. For their part, Americans very often use a joking or plain derogatory tone when talking about Canada.

This, however, all happens on some "macro" level. In person to person interaction, people go along very well. I don't think an American would have a special attitude towards someone, just because he is Canadian and vise versa. On a person to person level, it is all about who you are, not where you come from unlike real discrimination (I think that is the word chilecheese was looking for, not racism, which is a special case of discrimination based on race), where a person is judged only based on belonging to a certain group of people.

I agree that when it comes to the U.S., Canadians have an inferiority complex that only manifests itself on the surface as superiority and snootiness.

The idea that Americans are jealous, envious of Canadians is laughable. Maybe it's because I live in the South, but most Americans don't ever really hear that much about Canada unless you happen to be on an internet forum and a Canadian brings it up.

Almost 30 posts a day... you draw your own conclusion. To answer the OP's question, I think a lot of it has to do with jealousy. The US, with as great a country as it is, can't stand the fact that it's smaller, northern neighbour: consistently (actually always) outranks itself in every "Quality of Life Indexes", has lower crime rates, has universal health care, has a more sound government and doesn't impose themselves as the world's police force, is respected more around the world when its citizens travel abroad, has a much more stable economy, doesn't have a corrupt government, doesn't outlaw many freedoms such as online gaming, I could go on and on here... but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the US has always seen Canada as a competitor when it comes to every the US is proud of, such as freedoms, rights, quality of life, integrity, tolerance (lack of racism), education, economic power, etc. Does the US rag on Canada as much as they do on Mexico? LOL, not even close. It's because Mexico isn't a threat to the US and their superiority. Due to Americans and their superiority complex, they feel a need to rag on Canadians because they view them as a competitor. -200 says that over 75% of the posters here who rag on Canadians have never visited Canada nor have actually got to know a Canadian.

LOL, I can already tell that your # of years of education completed is on the far left side of the bell curve.

LOL, socialism... then what do you call the multi trillion dollar GOVERNMENT BAILOUTS that dozens of businesses received??? Isn't that socialism? That is the definition of socialism sir, when the government intervenes into the market. It's the same thing with your social security and medicare, that's socialism. Whether you like it or not, the US is a partially socialist country, just like every other country in the world.

The US is on the decline, and if you deny that, you've lost all credibility and consider this conversation over. Your great grandchildren are going to be paying back the debts your government is incurring to the Chinese for decades. You're at the mercy of OPEC. Your economy resembles a house of playing cards. Your public education system is a joke (case in point, you). Chances are, you're in debt and have a negative net worth. Now is not a good time to be an American. But you and Fox News will keep on spewing, fkkk yea, American't is the greatest!

Land of the free my @$$!!!!!!!!!!! The US is a fkn joke.... UNREAL:

    http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/g...3df229697.html

INDIANAPOLIS | Overturning a common law dating back to the English Magna Carta of 1215, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Hoosiers have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes.
In a 3-2 decision, Justice Steven David writing for the court said if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner cannot do anything to block the officer's entry.
"We believe ... a right to resist an unlawful police entry into a home is against public policy and is incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence," David said. "We also find that allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level of violence and therefore the risk of injuries to all parties involved without preventing the arrest."
David said a person arrested following an unlawful entry by police still can be released on bail and has plenty of opportunities to protest the illegal entry through the court system.
The court's decision stems from a Vanderburgh County case in which police were called to investigate a husband and wife arguing outside their apartment.
When the couple went back inside their apartment, the husband told police they were not needed and blocked the doorway so they could not enter. When an officer entered anyway, the husband shoved the officer against a wall. A second officer then used a stun gun on the husband and arrested him.
Professor Ivan Bodensteiner, of Valparaiso University School of Law, said the court's decision is consistent with the idea of preventing violence.
"It's not surprising that they would say there's no right to beat the hell out of the officer," Bodensteiner said. "(The court is saying) we would rather opt on the side of saying if the police act wrongfully in entering your house your remedy is under law, to bring a civil action against the officer."
Justice Robert Rucker, a Gary native, and Justice Brent Dickson, a Hobart native, dissented from the ruling, saying the court's decision runs afoul of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
"In my view the majority sweeps with far too broad a brush by essentially telling Indiana citizens that government agents may now enter their homes illegally -- that is, without the necessity of a warrant, consent or exigent circumstances," Rucker said. "I disagree."
Rucker and Dickson suggested if the court had limited its permission for police entry to domestic violence situations they would have supported the ruling.
But Dickson said, "The wholesale abrogation of the historic right of a person to reasonably resist unlawful police entry into his dwelling is unwarranted and unnecessarily broad."
This is the second major Indiana Supreme Court ruling this week involving police entry into a home.
On Tuesday, the court said police serving a warrant may enter a home without knocking if officers decide circumstances justify it. Prior to that ruling, police serving a warrant would have to obtain a judge's permission to enter without knocking.

I brought up the fact that a lot of the winners on here seem to be non US based. And perhaps this is true and is the cause of all this. Jealousy can ruin a persons life.
America used to be revered, both politically socially. They used to take charge in wars, now they spend 9 years looking for 1 man and wasting time in countries which pose no threat. The world looked up to America when it came to Music, TV and Movies... Now we get Katy Perry, Jersey Shore, and every imaginable bullshit Summer blockbuster that requires no brain power.
