    Dealing With Death

How does everyone deal with death? I've been a walking zombie for three days, just out of it. I'm past the emotional part, but I just don't feel normal. Been drinking a more beers than normal, but not overdoing it.

How does everyone else deal with it?

It is something we all will face ourselves one day. No one comes out of it alive. The easiest way of dealing is thinking of positive memories and how those that pass contribute to our lives. Keep your head up, guy.

There is no right way to mourn or deal with the lost of a loved one.

You don't get "past" anything...you just get a little bit more normal each day. Stop drinking and spend some time with loved one.

Understand it's a part of life you can't control. I had to do a speech for my grandma at her funeral...probably the toughest thing I've ever done. Also, drinking won't make it any better...

Tough thing to do. I refused to do it and regretted it.

Depending on the circumstances, it can be brutal. But the world hasn't stopped revolving because someone died, so we have to get on with the rest of our lives, and I know that sometimes is easier said than done.

You have to go through the 5 stages of loss
    1)Denial
    2)Anger
    3)Bargaining
    4)Depression
    5)Acceptance
It is a process for each individual person, could take a few months or years depending on any number of factors
good luck and use the resources in your area

Don't try to deal with it alone and keep your loved ones close. You're going to need them.

My dad passed away 4 months ago after a 1 year battle against cancer,
It's terrible but sadly death is the only "certain" thing in life.
    Can't escape from it.

Idk I've never died, dig me up after Im dead and I'll tell ya

If you're talkin about dealin with other ppls deaths then if its someone you loved it may bother you for the rest of your life when you think about them, however if it was a bookie you owed money to or an exgf that was a crazy bitch it prolly wont be so bad, it just depends

Cremate it, put it on the mantle, and give it a little shout out every time you pack a bowl.

Sorry to hear. Just keep on keeping on. Nothing we can do to change these things, have to accept it for what it is.

I barely went to my grandfathers funeral. I would rather celebrate his life than mourn over his death. I really only went to console family I knew would need me. My idea of celebrating his life consisted of my family from up north that I rarely see, friends and others going back to my grandfathers place, sitting around, recalling the history, drinking expensive bourbon, and smoking fine dope. I could not think of a better way to do it. We all had a blast, and it was good for everyone to loosen up, to forget the death and to recall the great journey that led up to it instead.

    Hope you feel better vi.

Be with family and loved ones. The healing starts much later, but it's normal to be emotional for the first year or two.

Death is fair. Life is wrong.

VI pal, just know that it's OK to feel whatever you're feeling right now. After death we tend to put ourselves under a microscope to examine parts of our own life and revisit past experiences and mistakes . This is a good chance to learn what you really want out of life and come out a better person. GL

3 yrs ago I had one of the most tragic things happen to me. My gf who was a psychiatrist killed her self during the Ohio St LSU championship game. Shot her self right in the chest when I went to make a drink. I was being accused at first when the cops and homicide detective's came. She came to and told them what she did but died at hospital. She had everything and there was no signs. She helped ppl everyday with there problems. i havent been the same since! I drink way to much now!

Yeah, no problem -- there's a lot of words with similar spellings to your original word so I wanted to make sure.

    Sorry for your loss.
