Team Poker Stars snags 4 new additions

They are really trying to go out aren't they.

PokerStars Online Poker Team Gets Stronger

September 19th, 2007 Written by Catrina Rudd

Team Poker Stars has gotten 4 new additions. Joe Hachem, 2005 WSOP Bracelet Winner, spoke of the 4 new members in a press release saying, “Despite being from completely different walks of life and experience, all four players exemplify the talent, professionalism and competitive spirit upon which PokerStars prides itself. I am very excited to welcome Khan, Minieri, Lam and Rahme to Team Poker Stars.”

Canadian Tuan Lam, South African Raymond Rahme, Italian Dario Minieri and American Hevad Khan will now endorse Poker Stars after being officially added to the current poker dream team that includes three world champions and some of the biggest names in the game.

Lam, Rahme and Khan catapulted into the spotlight this summer at the World Series of Poker, when all three of them made the final table of the Main Event. Minieri, on the other hand, is already a Poker Stars star known for playing up to nine tournaments at a time for several hours a day on the site.

Lam is a former Vietnamese refugee living in Ontario. While his name may not be familiar to poker fans, Lam is a seasoned rounder with nearly 17 years’ experience at the poker table, part of the time spent as a dealer. Now a professional player, Lam prefers cash and short-handed games on PokerStars.com. His largest cash came at this summer’s WSOP, where he made it into heads-up competition against Jerry Yang at the Main Event, 2007 world champion. He won 4.8 million dollars for second place at the tournament.

Raymond Rahme made the final table, and finished third behind Lam. Rahme made WSOP History as the first player from Africa to reach the Main Event Final Table. Although he only has 2 years of Hold’em experience, he is not a stranger to major events or the final tables. He has finished fourth in the largest tournament in African history. An active father of 6, Rahme is a regular Seven Card Stud player who has played casually while running a bed and breakfast. “I am constantly on the hunt for my next challenge and I have always approached life with a never-give-up attitude,” said Rahme. “On PokerStars, there is always another challenge around the corner no matter what your skill level may be.”

One of the two youngest of the new members is 22 yr old Haved Kahn, from America. He is part of a new breed in poker players who grew up with a mouse or joy stick in hand. He’s been playing poker for a few years and started to play competitive Starcraft Broodwar at 13, showing his developing competitive edge. He now plays as Rain Khan, and achieved recognition as a sit and go specialist, with a talent for multiple hands at one time. Once he was filmed playing more than 40 simultaneous Poker Stars tables on one monitor.

Dario Minieri, the other young team member, also 22, is known for accruing enough frequent player points to purchase his first car, a Porsche Cayman, free. He has smoothly made the transition to live tournaments and has already cashed more than 300 thousand dollars in live event winnings in the last couple of years.

With these four new players added to the already star studded team at PokerStars, this team is rapidly developing into an unbeatable powerhouse in online and tournament poker.

    Herb:
I believe they would of signed her up, the reason for not doing so from some reading i've done is because of her age.

You see she can't play in the nothamerican games yet cause she's under age to gamble thus severly limiting her ability to produce.

That said heres my opinion of her as i played many tournys with her at stars.

Without a doubt shes top 3 in tournaments online, she regularly destroys huge fields and has made about 800k there,
i don't know how the hell she does it being that shes just been playing a few years, i often wonder.

I hate seeing her at my table, thats how strong she is.

You see almost all the players on TV wearing some type of on-line poker logo on the WSOP. Besides the players that are under contract or win an on-line entry, why do all the others wear the stuff? After paying their 10k to enter, do the on-line sites give them free hats, shirts and sweats?
