WileOut is correct that there are tons and tons of pro poker players and in reality no such think as being a professional poker player. It does not exist anymore.

    ** Not joking **

Put Ivey (80% of the pros) in a 5/10 NL 5K buy-in game and he would be only a LITTLE better than the avg 5/10 player playing today.

most of these "pros" are just riding the rollercoaster anyways - few months or years riding high, winning tourneys, hitting big in ring games, then a few months or years in debt, on credit to other players, still living the same lifestyle but on someone else's dime until their luck turns around again.

I seriously doubt any of these "pros" aka degenerate gamblers, are consistently generating positive income every year, unless they have other businesses or methods of income generating investments. Even then, 500K a dice roll - gonna be broke eventually. Stop - hammer time.

It is very common for pro gamblers to be disciplined at their main games, but in other games, and in their recreation (drugs, whores, etc.), to be out of control. Example #1 is Stu Ungar.

Those are recycled from other jokes. The pizza one is used quite a bit by rival high schools/colleges. The girlfriend one is from musicians (I was a semi-pro one).

Not really about poker players, directly; just recycled humor.
