People do not realize how big this game plays and how bad you can get hurt if you are unable to fold really big hands.

The game would usually get going on Saturday nights and just like clock work the same thing would play out every time. As the night went on players would bust out and by 3:00AM the game would be 3-4 handed with these 3 to 4 guys having all the money. We are talking like crazy money (1500 - 3000) and stacks that you would usually never have in the same size NL game.

Three weeks ago the game was already tough to get started as there would only be a list of 5-6 players. One of the guy recruits some regular NL players to give it a try and game gets going. As usual by 3:00AM game is short handed with four players all having stacks of well over a 1000.

Then this hand unfolds..........

One player puts in a pot sized preflop raise and two players call. I have junk and fold.
Pot has 30

Flop comes KhTh9s

One guy pots other two guys call. Pot is now 120

Turn is 9h

First guy pots and initial preflop raiser pots. Both guys call. Pot is now 1560

River is a blank and all three players are all in

UTG has xx99 for quad 9
MP has xxKK for top boat
Button has xxQhJh for str8 flush and rakes in a 4000 pot

I told the poker room manager that this would probably end the game and since that hand the game has not come close to going. Some of the players got hurt real bad playing this game. Several used to come a couple of times every week and I have not seen them in a long time.

No telling how many "pro" poker players have been retired by high stakes Omaha...that game is brutal

If they had PLO High at the casino closest to me, I'd be dead broke. Voluntary banned myself for a year yesterday just from getting shit on at 2/5 NL for weeks on end. Lost a huge pot where I was 91% with the river to come, last straw for me.
