    SBR Poker Championship: Top 100 players, 30,000pts

    All events take place at the SBR Poker room.

    Who will play?     The top 100 SBR Poker tourney players. (net winnings from tourney play, 1/1-10/31)

    UPDATE: The list of 100 players has been posted.

    The final top 100 list will be posted Tuesday morning, November 1st. The top 20 players will secure a bye to the Championship on November 12th.

    • Round 1, Sat. Nov 5th (Prizes: 600pts+20 seats to Championship)
      Tourney 1, 4:00PM ET: Players ranked 21-50 will play in a private tournament. Players will begin with 3,000 chips, blinds will be set to 8 minutes with one 5 minute bathroom break per hour. The top 10 advance to the championship, winner receives 300 poker points.

      Tourney 2, 5:00PM ET: Players ranked 51-100 will play in a private tournament. Players will begin with 3,000 chips, blinds will be set to 8 minutes with one 5 minute bathroom break per hour. The top 10 advance to the championship, winner receives 300 poker points.


    • Championship Round, Sat. Nov 12th (Prizes: 30,000 poker pts)
      Tourney 1, 5:00PM ET: 40 players will square off in the SBR Poker Championship (Top 20 of original 100 + Round 1 qualifiers). Players will begin with 5,000 chips, blinds will be set to 10 minutes with one 5 minute bathroom break per hour.

    Round 1 Prizes
    1st. 300 poker pts + seat to Championship
    2-10th. seat to Championship

    Championship prizes
    1st. 10,000 betpoints
    2nd. 6,000 poker pts
    3rd. 4,000 poker pts
    4th. 3,000 poker pts
    5th. 2,000 poker pts
    6th. 1,500 poker pts
    7th. 1,250 poker pts
    8th. 1,000 poker pts
    9th. 750 poker pts
    10th. 500 poker pts

    Championship 1st place pays 10,000 betpoints. Places 2-10 are poker points with 3X rollover.

    Hi Vegas,

    Championship 1st place pays 10,000 betpoints. Places 2-10 are poker points with 3X rollover.

    Seems a little unfair that someone with 2 cashes has a bye over people with 30 or 40. Even if those 2 cashes were the main event and the 50k horse event they would still not be ahead of someone with 30 or 40...not even close. formula needs some major tweeking.

    A few of those with many points and few cashes don't seem to be around anymore. I haven't seen some of them in a long, long time.

    It would be nice if there could be some kind of pre-registration with a deadline - announced via sticky thread and PM. Eliminate any who are no longer active. Then maybe move others up to fill the 20,30,50 categories.

    this is gonna be a tough qualifying tournament. everybody folding everything until their QQ comes up against KK. blinds increase slower than usual. ah well- thanks SBR.

    yeah tough thing is if you are 20-40 you are playing higher competation. Not sure how else you could do it though
    would of been cool to have a heads up like 20-100, 21-99 and so on but this is ok

    they need faster blind increases for a survivor tournament, not slower. so many people are going to play tight until they just run into some very unfortunate lucky hands. higher blinds would force the action and make it more like a poker game as opposed to EVERYONE sitting around waiting for cards.

    Yeah but you're also only playing 30 people (21-50) instead of 50 people (51-100) because the top 20 get a pass.

    So 30 of the top 50 make it, whereas only 10 of the lower 50 do.

    That is if you are equating rank # with poker skill because if you are then you are so far off.

    I'll take plenty of players ranked 100-150 over anyone in the top 40.

    yea i agree with this. im in 23rd place with a lot of cashes but will not get a first round bye because a lot of people in top 20 cashed big in feb. but it is what it is.

    Rolling over 6000 or 4000 points in one block is a brutal punishemnt.

    Perhaps the winning can be broken down into 1000 point awards, to make it a little less painful.

    Fastest I have ever rolled over points was 1800 in like 3.5 hours. 18k is gonna be ridiculous to roll over. You would have to spend a full weekend on it.

    My legs are beginning to hurt from jumping through all the hoops.
