2nd night on sbr poker with a laptop since my desktop apparently got struck by lightning. i must say this is unbearable and needs to be fixed asap... i've gotten disconnected abot 25 times each night.

also: im using exact same connection as i had with my desktop and never once, the whole time i was playing on sbr, got disconnected on it

Does it happen at your other poker sites while on this internet connection? I have lost other poker site connections besides SBR poker, so it is sometimes the internet I am using that is the issue.

I use SBRpoker on my laptop with no problems.

It has XP on it, and I have read maybe it is Windows 7 causing the problem. Have we scratched that yet? Well I will be getting my new Sony VAIO laptop with Windows 7 soon, and I will see if I start getting disconnected.

I think people that get disconnected all the time should list computer specs when posting complaints. It would help the Techs address the issues.

    Processor, RAM, OS, etc.

I get kicked every tournament at least once or twice. Overall not any other problems, but it is almost a lock to happen at least once. I have Windows 7.

I play from a laptop that has Windows 7 and it was ******.

Click on the SBR Poker icon. > Properties > compatibility > run this program as ... windows XP Service pack 2 (experiment with different options if this doesn't work)

I did this and my constant disconnections ended. It still happens from time to time but no where near as bad as it did before.

I also play sbr poker on my windows laptop, and never any disconnect issues. I run ubuntu on my desktop, and it doesn't seem to mesh well with wine, so i stick to the laptop for poker.

I got my new laptop coming with Windows 7 Pro. So I can run stuff in XP if need be. Just in case.

Good advice. People with Win7 Pro version can also try running SBR Poker in "XP Mode"

Win7 has a totally different network stack than XP and I think it's a bit wonky. Probably not THE reason but maybe a contributing one.

i dont know anything about the computer world.

its vista (yea i know sucks, but i literally have no files, or programs and do absolutely nothing on it)., average computer (bout $700), gateway, never disconnected 16 tabling pokerstars trying to nit it up for supernova a few years back), and like i said, my desktop never disconnected from sbr poker (ruling out my connection speed).

surely i dont need some state of the art laptop just to play sbr poker. i always found it ridiculous how people would chat how they disconnect on their laptop nonstop, and now im experiencing it too

Apple is the way to go. Never use anything with Microsoft as the operating system.
