I still go all in with them, but I'm 0 for 6 the last 6 times...so it sucks for the moment.

Pocket j's are tricky. A lot of pros talk about how much they hate them. it also depends if you are playing online or live

you guys are tools to think this would be a simple answer. So many different scenarios to look into. Chip stack, position, tourney or cash game, table play, Potential opponents equity in the hand, and about 15 other things that i wont even get into. Generally when im dealt pocket jacks in a cash game. ( i play around 25-35 hours live a week) ill be all in about 8% of the time pre flop. Even with card like Aces ill have even a lower percentage. Your goal with big pocket pairs is to isolate your hand, Not push pre flop. Pushing gives mediocre hands a lot of call equity if you get say 2 callers in early position.

Shove button or later against small/mid/upper stacks that are loose/agressive of any variation. ALWAYS dump JJ with a couple raises in front of you regardless of your position

If you and your opponent have deepish stacks, like 50 big blinds or more, you will almost always find yourself way behind or a little ahead. 3-bet folding isn't pretty, but you gotta do it sometimes unless you're up against a maniac. In a freeroll like on SBR where people are open shoving ATC in the early rounds, I'd probably stick my nose in with what figures to be the best hand. I haven't been playing these tourneys much because I work weird hours.

Maybe in the freerolls and $2 games you play bud. The economy has the food chain all f'd up, some pros are busting and games get tougher all the time. In '05 - '08 anyone with a brain could make a killing.

If you're in an MTT and have 10 BB's or less then yes it's an all in situation. If it's early on with like 10/20 blinds with 1500+ chip counts don't be retarded and play bingo against fish because you know some assclown will be calling with KQ and ending your tourney early. Cash games are different I would just call with JJ and hope to hit a J on the flop. Jacks get burned a lot on ragged flops. Hate this hand personally.

it depends on a lot of things, how lose your table is, if your playing a cash game or a tourney, how big is your stack, if your short stacked and behind the blinds you wanna push to steal or get called and double but if its early you just put in a 3 or 4 times raise of the big blind to get an idea of what everyone has if someone goes over the top all in they probably have kk aa or ak and you should fold

LOL I expected that video to be an actually strategy one. That shit is just too good. Basically sums it up with jacks. It depends, it depends, it depends. I will say if you have less then 10 bb's always push over limp/raises, and min raise call shove with no action in front of you.

Typically all in with JJ is the right play, only time to consider folding would be, a raise,a reraise and a push all in infront of you or something along these lines.

True I would be less inclined to doing that early in the tourney.

not only that situation, obv, but only when facing aggression from multiple people and even then maybe not. depends on stack size and buy-in.

I played today until the blinds hit 600 and I never got a high pair. That was a lot of hands.

    Amazing.

Best hands: KQ (unsuited), A10 (unsuited), pair of 4s, pair of 2s

although at the end I think I had AJ. But no AA, KK, QQ, JJ, etc.

Found a nice little stats table, shows probability of a higher pair than JJ with X other players

    9: 12.6%
    5: 7.2%
    3: 4.4%
    1: 1.5%

Problem if you let it go to a flop though, chance of an A or K is 41% on the flop, 60% the board - if someone checks your big raise, that's probably going to connect (or they have QQ/KK/AA/AK/AQs).
