I donate money. It is more suitable for me as my time is limited. Also I'm sure you've heard the term "time is money" Isn't that the truth.

You can always write a check to St.Jude's and not become a Pro if you are worried about your privacy with the books. Why blame SBR for implementing a fair policy to eradicate points fraud? They have done the studies and found out that 99.9% of the point fraud schemes are conspired by non-pros.

You can't be this naive Pavy

How is exempting donations to St. Judes going to increase point fraud?

Pavy you are smarter than this

I don't want to expose SBR completely, but I may have to

Exactly and unfortunately because of a few bad apples all the non pros have to deal with the new rules. I'm sure most will agree that sbr is being reasonable.

If you get to 20000 points and dont become a pro then you're a moron... Why dont you just stop complaining and just become a pro if you care so much about the charity? It's technically free as long as you have at least $200 sitting around in an offshore account, and I would assume most of us do...

I don't think I've ever complained about the Pro/non-pro thing before this

I really don't care too much about the charity

The point here is more about SBR misleading everyone about the reasons for restrictions

Fair enough, but SBR is not "preventing" you from becoming a pro, you have the option.

This is straight forward. You want to have unlimited use of your points and buy whatever you want from the store? Become a Pro.

Else you can only buy the limited items they offer you at the Store. The choice is yours.

Who said I wanted unlimited use?

The question at this point is, was the system implemented to prevent fraud, or to increase revenue to SBR sponsored books? Because I don't think anyone could believe someone is defrauding SBR to send money to St. Jude

Take your checkbook and write a check to St.Jude's if you don't like the way the points system works. Why bother with the measley points SBR gives you for being here and posting?

You know what...Op is just finding a hot topic to pseudo vent about. Op is really pissed that he cant buy regular pro items in store. So he takes a top like charity, or children to sideways vent on his real issue.

I think if you look at my history, you'll see I have little to no interest in purchasing anything from the sbr store.

The only reason I brought this up, is because there were a couple of threads asking for donations, and I attempted to make one.

I could really give two shits about betpoints. Just wanted to point out the dishonesty by SBR

It's all the same in some ways. Fraud is an exepense. How much is given away is part of a balance. Too much fraud... No points program giveback. Too much being given away, not sustainable...No points program. SBRforum chose to use the model of giving back to its users to enrich the site and user experience. Anyone who doesnt think free is cheap enough is encouraged to go elsewhere.

Well after the points SBR gave you for free are used to buy donations for St.Jude SBR has to write a check and send to St.Jude. So they give you points for free then they accept them back at the Store and write the check to the charity. So basically SBR is putting up all the cost for the donation. And some people are actually complaining SBR is ripping them off!!

    Stealthy,
But not to worry, the points program isn't going anywhere. We enjoy it. 98% of our posters enjoy it. That's why we have to take care to manage it correctly and will make sure it remains part of the most fun capper website. People don't usually like changes but we'll do what's best for everyone.

Guys I think you're interpreting this wrong.

I have no problem with restricting points transactions to PROs only. Hell, I have no problem with abolishing points for all non-pros all together

I 100% understand SBRs reasoning behind all of this

My ONLY issue is this. SBR uses the reasoning of fraud-prevention behind the move. Thats why the restrict purchases to bullshit t-shirts and sportsbook freeplays etc. Obviously this works, because nobody is going to defraud SBR for points for a free fukkin t-shirt. But why not include St. Judes donations if you are going to include t-shirts? Do you really think someone will defraud SBR to donate to St. Judes?

Here is what I think. The whole defrauding of betpoints was one big strawman created. Peanut was not even real.He was created by SBR, and gave those points to Nicky, so everyone could get their panties tied over ghosts scamming the point system. Funny we don't see Nicky complaining about the 5k points anymore.

The way I see it is the points program is like a private country club. The Pros (members) got to choose whatever time they want to tee off for golf, use the steam room, the pool, buy food at a discount, etc. The non-pros are like non-members. They can only tee off at twilight but only if they pay 3X times the green fees, can't use the steam room, the pool, have to buy regular price food etc.

Buy a freeplay or sportsbook cash make the rollover withdraw the cash deposit $200 at a book you like and not have this problem anymore. or withdraw the cash and give it directly to your favorite charity.

I wonder how many pros there would be here if the requirement was to maintain at least 500 in a sponsor book at all times instead of a 200 one time deal? Seriously if their goal is to have posters playing at a sponsor, why wouldn't this make more sense? Then they could actually award those that follow the program as it was intended.
