    NBA Contractrion

David Stern is talking about it being on the table during the next CBA negotiation. How many teams do you think he's talking about, and which one(s). Memphis and New Orleans would definitely be talked about. Atlanta has never had a consistant fan base either.

OKC maybe. Memphis would be a good choice to cut.

If tickets were not $100+ to sit in the lower level more fans would go. Their greed has brought it upon themselves.

NBA stands for Never Bet Again....and it's just a matter of time before they price themselves into a financial bind. When the economy is bad and people are hurting they're not going to shell out $50 bucks a ticket to see a bunch of jakes run up and down the court no matter what that tool says

Part 2 is the NBA would have to compensate the Owner and city that he screws. When you add in franchise cost, arena contracts, merchandising, food contracts, etc. etc. you're probably talking a well over a Billion per

This. The tickets are so expensive. The pricing has to be consistent with current economic conditions.

I think all leagues should contract and play less games.

But it wont happen. Bars and restaurants around the arena would be bitching and moaning. Too many people have their hands in the cookie jar for contraction to be a viable solution.

Ditto. I can't stand it when companies and networks try to push something like this on us that is never going to work in the long run.

damn you people really hate the wnba here. yeah, some teams are hard to watch but what about the good teams/players? most of them go play in europe when the wnba season ends and make MILLIONS.

Taurasi could easily play in the nba as a spot shooter. IF you want I will actually take the time to list all of the great players that are actually fun to watch in the wnba.

you want to pick on a league that should have been long dead? pick on the mls

I would say the Sacramento Kings are at the top of the list. They have the lowest home attendance in the league at just under 13K per home game and they haven't been a winning franchise since the CWebb days. Couple other teams include Memphis and Charlotte.

If you look at attendance and recent winning...Indiana, Philadelphia and New Jersey could all be considered underachieving and crappy franchises...but none of them are going anywhere.

LOL for Atlanta. I can name 15 teams that don't deserve a team before the mighty Hawks.

The only reason I brought up Atlanta is that they traditionally stink at supporting pro sports there. The Falcons and Braves are in the middle of the pack as far as attendance goes, and they were both playoff teams last year. The Braves still can't sell out a playoff game. The Hawks have normally been in the bottom five, until recently when they started winning again, but even then, they are still in the bottom 10 teams. The Thrashers have stagnated more year after year. Atlanta is a terrible pro sports city.
