Interesting thread... Lakers yes. I will need to see the Miami Heat in mid-season form in order to make that judgement on them. Boston is a different animal in the playoffs and can beat ANY team in it's way, including LA. The Lakers can also beat ANY team in it's way, including Boston. However if Miami lives up to it's potential than they can take out both Boston and the Lakers. It's either both or none.

NBA did a bad job of scheduling Miami to play both the Magic and the Celtics this early in the season. Clearly these three teams will be the top seeds of the eastern conference and there will be no suspense during the latter stages of the regular season if these teams don't play one another head to head then.

The league has been wanting LeBron in the finals for a while now. He is the face of the league. Way too early for me to say this is a done deal. I wanna see the big three play a couple playoff games. Totally different situation than regular season.

I have to agree. I'm not sure the Celtics will have enough left in the tank by the end of the season. Orlando have no real advantages besides Howard if Nelson doesn't show up big every night (in a 7 game series I am talking).

Lakers have no competition in the West.

    No way!

It should be East vs East for the championship--three of the top four teams are in the East this year!

    Boston
    Orlando
    Miami

Won't be much of a championship without the best team playing.

Lakers will be in finals, but about Heat I'm not so sure, Magic or Celtics could be either.

too dominant teams in nba. it's not fun. gotta look up the odds for celtics, magic, heat, lakers, celtics or spurs to win. It's basically free money laying out on the street! Look kids, bet your houses and everything you own. Go to a pimp and bet your body. Take loans from dad and mom and girlfriend and brother and sister and bet it all! NBA is a shitty ass fixed league. It's a goddamn circus...

I guess Lakers are 100000% for finals but East it is possible Heat can be beaten by Boston or Orlando but that is it

No one else even has a small shot to get to finals

If you look at their schedule, you will see why. I'm most surprised by Boston, even though they usually start off hot they have been playing some pretty good teams.

League setting it up... gave them both easy schedules.. want them getting off on right foot...
Lakers have 20 home game in first 28 games.. insanely relaxed,.. make sure they are comfy and get a nice padded lead going into mid-season.. just so other teams get used to the idea that they are unbeatable..

i think they (nba) gave both teams a cushy schedule,
bcoz they want to see what happens when an 'all-gay' team (Lakers) faces a normal..
heterosexual team with pretty good players.. (Heat)

it's the only thing that really makes any sense to me..

Lets just hope Heat make the playoffs.. that'll be a start. in fact, when season began, i made my line for xmas game.. Lakers -2.5 over Heat. The way things are going, i'd say right now it'd be Lakers -8.5 over Heat.

Only chance the Heat have is to finish first in the East and hope the Magic knock out the Celtics in the 2nd round. Miami does not match up well with Boston AT ALL, and they really don't have room to maneuver to improve matchups, either. My two biggest bets this season have been Boston over Miami, and I would be shocked if the Heat could beat the Celtics in 7 games. That said, don't write the obit for the Heat yet. It is a long season and they will be a very good team by April. But they can't beat the Celtics, or the Lakers for that matter, in a 7 game series. Awful matchups for the Heat.

Looks like they're beginning to take care of business again. That 2nd half in against the Warriors looks like men playing against kids.

won't happen, last 2 years it was "no way cavs dont play lakers in the finals"

even when it was lakers vs boston a few years ago, the lakers weren't viewed as a popular pick to make the finals until they made it to the WCF with home court.

MIAMI lacks interior depth. Their worst matchup in the East would be Orlando and Boston. So no, it aint gonna be a trip at the park for them to get to the FINAL.
