Guys I might be done gambling.

I have lost my last 4 sport bets, ($100-$400 bets which is big for me on sports) I have lost my last 6 poker sessions. (-$800, -$100, -$1700, -$400, -$300, -$700). At one point I thought i was a good poker player, so much for that.

I have a $9 an hour job, no education and i just blew through my $5000 in savings that took a couple years to build. I am an idiot

Why do I post this thread? I don't know

Or longer. Build up your bankroll again and use better money management next time! Never gamble with money you don't have! Good luck!

of course its true. why would i tell a lie on gambling forum?

It is not that spectacular, to lots of people $5k probably isn't much even. But to me its big losses and that's why i am an idiot.

Brock i have retired before, but i can't keep doing this. I save up just to wipe out my savings again by playing

thanks for the points bread, they are going to my loan in a second.

I probably should call but i don't see how they can help me. I know all the facts, i have read gambler anyoymous websites and all the steps. I have tried to do them and sometimes it works for a couple months but i eventually convince myself that i will follow proper br management and (at times i can be a decent poker player) which makes things worse because i have won in the past and i remind myself of those times. I just have to forget somehow, i am not a winning player that is for sure.

Well the first step is to recognize you have a problem. From that point, you have to be open to professional help.

Secondly, if you are making $9 an hour, you shouldn't be anywhere near gambling. Thirdly, I hope you are in school or something.

yea i figured GA would be mostly older slot players ect. and i would have a hard time relating.

    I will look up NA.

Minet, i believe in some way i may enjoy losing...I believe i may be more relaxed after i lose.... any thoughts on this? I mean in my head i say of course i want to win and make money ect. but there is much less tension in me when i don't have money so maybe its in my subconscious to try and lose?

OMG as far as poker goes i consider myself a very good player that still has a lot to learn, i have 3-5 session losing streaks all the time you just have to practice good risk management. Im assuming your play 1-3 and possibly 2-5 but to lose 1700 you had to keep rebuying multiple times. You need to keep it cool there and not go on tilt.

Take a break separate a portion of your income dedicated to gambling so you can keep finances in order. get back in school and get a better job.

0-4 from sports is something usual, your losses are from poker mainly.there are many bots, most of the sites are rigged I think, avoid it.

but if you enjoy to play, don't go to the no limit tables,
the fixed limit gives more chances and will reduce the losses.

If you make 9 bucks an hour, have no education, and blew through 2 years worth of savings in a few days and you only "might" be done gambling, then you still have issues to work through.

People who do what you di don't "bounce back" after a month off. They just don't.

And whatever you do, DO NOT listen to Brock. This is a guy who has lost everything, more than once and is still betting a ridiculous chunk of his bankroll right now. There are just some people who should not gamble. Period.

most of my losses where playing live poker in casinos.

Endoftime, in minnesota they have this law that says max bet $60 so there is no, no limit tables . So i end up playing limit at canterbury, im absolutely terrible at limit and i get absolutely destroyed (8/16-15/30) 30/60 if im really tilted

you are very right, sometimes i can quit for 2-4 months but it seems never much longer than that. Once my finances are back in order i can't stay away from the tables/sport bet) The pain from the last losses eventually fades and I remember the good wins, not the losses. I really do want to quit, the problem is will i still want to quit 2-4 months from now? How do i break myself from this cycle?

I think "liking losing" has to do with KNOWING. You hate yourself and what you have become and losing is akin to finding out your girlfriend has been cheating on you when you knew it all along. Gambling for most leads to death and destruction. Seek solace in the Lord....ask FlyingIllini for forgiveness.

I went 0-6-1 on Sunday, hit one play yesterday & lost 2 today. I cant bet baseball but I know this. So I'm playing very small & waiting for football season. Just take a break, play betpoints, do whatever you need to get your gambling fix, & just wait for football season. You cant win in everything, you're fortunate to win in 1 or 2, what sport do you know the most about, follow closest, know how to handicap, have any connections? If it's not MLB leave the shit alone!!!

Just wait til September when the Little Chicago Syndicate starts working its magic

it is hard to quit. take some time off until you have savings again, but only put 10% for gambling use. it is for fun, not to earn a living, really.
