yes ore-gone and wazzu both lost.

ore-gone played great taking 3 seed creighton to 2OT.

but Zona is alive and well.

colorado has a tough game vs 2 seed marquette, but colo is a good squad and tad boyle a highly underrated coach.

dayton is a good and well coached squad.

    don't judge on one game.

that is a recipe for disaster.

    the recency effect kills bettors.

do not fall into it like you have done in the past.

yup what he did taking VCU to the final 4 in 2011 was impressive, even though it was a bit of a crazy tourney.

several great coaches cut their teeth at VCU over the last 20-25 years but he was the only one out of several who actually took VCU past the first weekend which was extremely impressive.

shaka was in over his head at texas which is a football school but he is finding his way at marquette and only a matter of time before he makes another final 4.

    maybe this year ??

Well coached? Maybe up until the final minute. You need 3 fouls to put the other team at the line with 24 seconds left and you are trying to trap every time basically gifting the game away. You quick foul twice there and then you look at trapping on the 3rd one but letting half the time come of the clock was awful coaching in my eyes. You basically put all the eggs in one basket. After all of that, he put his team in a position of if Marquette makes both ft they are done. Instead of extending the game and giving his team multiple possessions.

i was wondering what they were doing

they had 3 team fouls and needed to get to 7 with 22 seconds left... didn't send Marquette to the line for the 1 and 1 until 7.4 seconds left

    should've had them shooting a 1 and 1 with 15+ seconds left

it's like they were coached to cover the spread

What was even more amazing he calls a timeout and that was the strategy he puts in play out of a timeout. I mean, I guess if you want to try it once for a few seconds, fine makes sense. But then to tell your players to do this 3 times in a row? Pure stupidity.

    easy to monday morning QB.

you go w the same coaching skills that you brought you here.

people in coach circles and who follow CBB all season long year and year out, know that Tad Boyle is a very good and underrated coach.

does a lot without a ton of talent though he does have a decent home court advantage in the rarified air in Boulder at 5,500 feet

I am not saying he isn't a good coach, obviously he is doing most things right but it was a pretty simple decision, in the moment. Not hard to do the math in your head and know you aren't going to have enough time. Even the announcer was commenting on that. It didn't make sense before the timeout, after the timeout, or even now.

They are, although NC State is the most impressive for me. Needed to win the ACC tournament to make the big dance and they did it by winning 5 games in 5 days. The last team to do this was UCONN 2011.
