Saban 72, Carrol 72, Belichick 71…yes great coaches but can’t be surprised, if they weren’t as successful, they would have been out to pasture long ago

All smart to move on now before the fans, media and scumbags bury them for not winning like they used to.

Unfortunately that's already happened to Belichick this year from all of the aforementioned sources and on this very forum as well. (just for good measure)

I guess the new thing to do these days is to put old horses out to pasture indeed.

I can almost promise you all three of those "old geezers" can have any job they want if they choose to do so! (coaching wise)

Maybe for some crap team. What hall of fame coach wants to work with a losing team and loser football organization at this point in their life and career?

Bingo, but it’s free money. I’d be all over the Carolina job. The guy will fire you fast and still pay the bloated contract. Best job in the world.

in short, to answer your question, all of them...Here's why: (several common traits and factors)

    A) the competitive fire and challenge of doing it again
    B) the burning desire to still coach
    C) to prove your previous employer and all of the doubters wrong
    D) last but not least, the money!

    Well perhaps.

Still I think it could tarnish their legacy if they can't turn it around. It's a gamble. If the aging coaches don't care about their legacies then jump on board with a crap team and make that money then.

If you're Pete Carroll, how do feel about a woman (Jody Allen) removing him from his post? Cmon.

I met a couple of the old Redskins at card shows. Cool guys, couldn't have been nicer:

Nelms talked about Darrell Green joining the team. In the first few practices Nelms wondered if Green had the size to play at that level.

We all know that Green more than proved himself when he had to turn on the jets. And the punt return @CHI in 1987: Oh, my!

This is (IMHO) a basic truth in sports. Coaches get too much credit when they win. If the team is bad, the coach (usually) gets too much blame.

Coaching is all about getting players to max out their potential. In that regard, there are great coaches who get the most out of their roster. Doesn't always translate to championships.

Actually most native Americans don't find it offensive at all nor do they consider it a racial epithet. Quite the contrary, most of them take it as a compliment and honor! Do you know a major news story that somehow managed to get swept "under the rug" by the national media? Thousands of Indians were lobbying and signed petitions over this past Summer to get Washington to change their name back to the Redskins! but of course that woke ass cancel culture spineless jellyfish commissioner Roger Goddell shot it down as did new owner Josh Harris! so the fact remains that silly Cokkkasians were the ones who decided the name was "racist" and trying to be "politically correct". (as is the case with just about every other problem regarding politics and sports)

Pete Carroll is still under contract to the Seahawks. He's going to be paid a very large sum of money to sit at home and occasionally say nice things about the team.

38% of self-identified Native Americans said they were not bothered by the Washington Redskins name. But 49% overall said it was offensive, along with 67% of respondents who were heavily engaged in their native or tribal cultures, 60% of young people, and 52% of those with tribal affiliations.

Atlanta chasing Belichick is nuts. Blank should open the door for Harabugh. Even without a QB improvement, the worse he would do next year with that roster is 10-7 and win the division. Get him a decent QB, he's 12-5 and into the second round of the playoffs.
