You're on to something. But this should be no surprise.

Remember a few things:
1) These guys chose that profession.
2) It's all about making the sale.
3) If you SOUND like you know what you're talking about, that's half the battle.
4) Guy uses a database. And that part I believe.
5) RESPECTED by his fellow touts. Big deal. Your tracking of him tells it all.

*Like most on this site, I've paid for service plays. My experience is that they were NOT worth it. It's just an expense.
*I did pay for the Phil Steele FCS pages in the fall. But that's a little different. You get a weekly update of the scores, so not really paying for Picks.
*Ralph Michaels might be an example. But he's no different than any of the other touts. He's CHOOSING to sell his picks.

*If his picks were so valuable, wouldn't he want to keep them to himself?
*Handicapping is a very challenging venture. If only it were so easy as to access your database.

i tried a service years ago in the 2001 for nfl 1st 3 weeks 1-9 was $50 per week no dogs all chalks

i lied about bet per game i said 500 - 1000

i never tracked ralph michaels but i have looked at the site he is on with his other boys like mr teddy covers. there are times when he is spot on though with his free plays. i never paid for his picks.

as chuck said, i think he relies on his data too much. when it hits it looks smart. when it loses it looks outdated.

Distroya, I doubt it. This might sound crazy:

Just as hard to hit 45% as 55% (vs -110 lines).

The classic line is intended to split action. The math guys will appreciate how hard it is to hit 55% on any volume of games. Same for the flip side, hard to land under 45%.

I know guys say they Faded Brandon Lang and made a killing. At one time, that was surely true.

Guys paid for Cars by Fading Lang. But that doesn't last forever.

Polo, I could talk about Touts on and on. Remember that it's MOSTLY about the Tout closing the sale.

I have watched many Wagertalk videos. Way too many actually:

*Some of these guys are complete hamburgers.
*Ralph has a very good database. So, he SOUNDS knowledgable.
*Dave Cokin has good instincts. He's been around forever.

It's almost impossible to think you're getting +EV from a Tout pick (especially after you add in the Fee).

Chucky I've tracked, faded, researched countless number of cappers in the past 15 years.
Lang was fadeable, but not anymore overall. He gets hot and cold just like 99% of cappers just selling bullshitt picks. As you said its like bingo; just as hard to (miss numbers) find ones that suck 45% or less as to find 55% or betters I know the odds/numbers believe me.
His past month was bad so was hoping someone had extended data on him.

People love to poke fun on Touts and say they are Fading. If you Fade, still have to beat 11/10 on the flip side.

I wish people all the luck in world on Fading Lang. Lang won't win. But is he bad enough to go < 45% from now until the end of time?

I post positive things about Ayo, who is over 58.5 %, then Helluvaguy who is over 61.5 % last 100 plays, post Ras, and people think I work for Ras, who has been sucking, and people accuse me of promoting RAS, but they are assholes! But nobody says anything positive about the other 2 guys with millions of posts last 10 years!, makes me think, they all say lines change and nobody can get numbers, who’s fault is that , stupid bettors I guess???

i wasn't posting to show his "size". that was not my intent to make fun of him that way, sorry. i figured some would have seen him in recommended videos but didn't know who he was.

ralph seems nice when he speaks. i think he would be cool to talk with cause he seems to know a lot of interesting info. that said, i don't see it translate to the record he is said to have.

Tracked him since thread inception for CBB fading, he went an astonishing 100-52 FADING (65.78%)
This includes all (NIT, etc) college tourneys record of 29-18.
In the Nba/Nhl he isnt doing that bad but cant pick a college BB game for his life.
Interesting to see if form holds true when CFB starts.

Another awful "capper" that does absolutely NOTHING but take overs and favorites, is Jazz Ray. If you look at his pic, he looks like a pedophile with a creepy grin. Hasn't had a winning week or even close past 2 months in all sports.
His write-ups for selections are child-like and comical. Im now tracking his MLB, and on the first day he promptly went 0-3, losing all big fave bets (REDS, PADRES, ASTROS ). If he has a bad first full week, will definitely pick him up and fade beginning next week.
