    Qatar/Ecuador Over +++++

This could be a fools errand, but if I've learned anything in this game, always bet what no one else seems to be. The less people on a play, the better.

I've heard nothing but the match is rigged 1-0 for Qatar, or early Group Stage is always 0-0 ties, teams just want a point. I have seen a few contrarians on Ecuador but all 1 or 2-0.

I will be playing the Alt Line Steps here.

    Over 2.5 +165 $150
    Over 3.5 +425 $100
    Over 4.5 +1100 $75

Happy World Cup, let's start this thing off with a bang! The next month is a once in a lifetime whirl wind. CBB, CFB, NFL, NBA, NHL and World Cup. Utter Madness. Bet with your head, not over it, and enjoy!

    Duly noted.

Good Luck, topGamer. If I had two handicapping observations to pass along, it would be:

    1) How UN-physical Qatar was in some of the friendlies. They struggled to generate scoring chances vs the stronger teams.
    2) Anyone thinking about going anti-ECU, can't think of a better spot than this. In South American qualifying, ECU is traditionally home-biased. They do well in the hi-altitude Quito games, struggle to earn pts on road. That's pretty normal, but even bigger splits for ECU.

Diamond Jack has great writeups. I support his QATAR +0.25 (-120) position. If Qatar can't get pts here, they are at risk of getting shutout on home soil.

Topper...you are right about bettors mostly thinking UNDER in these big soccer tournaments. How fragile is the bettor psyche?

Go back to the 2014 World Cup. About 80% of the first round of games got to 3+, so people viewed this as a trend. The Over/Unders bumped up to 3.00...and I knew that was a half-ball too high.

Ecuador will press these guys. They have speed. Qatar will sit back and soak up.

    Good luck

Wow, well that sucked, haha. Had a chance to cash out for a hefty profit and let it ride. Qatar was absolutely horrendous. I gave them way too much credit for their Gold Cup performance. Have to admit I thought the fix would be in to give them at least one PK.

Just remember that goal differential matters so even though Ecuador could have scored another one, after they took out Valencia they were more concerned with keeping a clean sheet.

Seems to be Ecuador's tendency. Playing it safe.

Topper, from what I recall most of the good teams did not play with their best 11 in that Gold Cup

If there was any fix, which I doubt, it had to be on the under. Some of Ecuador's players play in the top Euro leagues whereas Qatar's team isn't even at the level of a club team, I'm surprised Ecuador couldn't score at least three.

Ecuador had 3 shots on target the whole game. One was the PK, the other one was the header, and they had a shot towards the end of the game that the goalie blocked. Ecuador was happy to pass the ball around the second half without doing anything because Qatar coach didn't know how to press them and set traps.
