    PGA Tour Championship plays...

This is a different format, where the leader (Scheffler) starts at -10, Cantlay at -8 and Schauffle at -6. Quite a big advantage for the worlds number one. So, the main question is who can overcome the deficit and beat Sheff? Top guy sits at +225 which to me is not enough. I would want minimum 3-1. Cantlay sits at +350 and I also think that's too short to take. Schauffle is a different animal here. Sitting at 7-1, I think he makes a run this weekend at the top two. He's not shot an over par round this season, and I don't think he starts now. This course sets up perfect for his style, requiring accurate, long tee shots and command around the greens. He's really the only player worth a play in my opinion as far as the win end of this thing, as much as I hate spelling his name.

Xander Schauffele +700 to win the PGA Tour Championship

    1st Round Matchup

Cameron Smith +136 over Rory Mcllroy

I will post any other Round Matchups if there are any as the week moves on.

This seems confusing for casual golf enthusiasts.

It rewards the top golfer from the FedEx Cup standings during the year. Players accumulate points each tournament they do well depending on where they finish in a tournament. At the end of the season, like now, the top player gets to start first place with a two stroke lead. Look at it like the first round has already been played and it's a 5 round tournament. Some players don't care for it, Jon Rahm being one of them. It makes it a much harder bet because the top 3 are at such an advantage and the guys toward the bottom literally are playing for a top 10 spot instead of winning if they were to shoot the top score after 4 rounds.

Just the way they formatted it.

Some don't. It eliminates over half the field from the start. But, if the player did well on the points during the year, he's staring at 18 mil if he can finish the deal. Talk about pressure, lol.

I don't really like this formant either. Limits the competition. I'm taking cam smith.200 to win 4400. The motivation is there he would love to stick it to PGA before he bounces. Six shots behind with 4 days I think is enough time for him to catch up. I think on Saturday he's the leader and Sunday he takes Player of the year.good luck to all

He has an outside shot, but the pressure on him is he has to shoot in the 60's all four rounds to even come close. That's a tall order. He's capable, but it's not likely. He hasn't played that well as of late either. He has hip soreness but I heard that it's gone away. I have the 1st Round bet on him, but after the 1st round I think might get dicey for him if that hip soreness comes back. Might be a hip pointer.

I think he has some vulnerability. He hasn't played that well because of his wedge shots to the green which he's been pulling. He's done that two tournaments in a row which means he is having trouble fixing it or he's hiding some type of injury where he can't get that club square on short shots. Still, he has a major advantage with a good first round of 67 or 68. That will put him up by 4 or 5 going to round two if he pulls that off.

I'm pretty sure they just started doing this format in 2019 that's when Rory came back from five shots.2020 Dustin Johnson started as the leader and he won.2021 Patrick Cantley started as the leader and he won.

I think Rahm has a good shot, definitely without the starting strokes. He loves East Lake, great history, and is in solid form. Might even overcome the 7 stroke disadvantage at the start to win the whole shebang!

Well, a good start, Rory triple bogied and Cam got down in par. 3 stroke lead to start the matchup.

Had the lead going to 16, lost it, got it back to even at 17, and at 18 they both birdied for a push.

Cam's back is not well. He struggled on that back 9. He's not walking right. Maybe a go against tomorrow.

I like it! Good call on Schouffer, or however you spell it. Lot of these lower guys have gotta be gassed. Should be some good value on matchups next 3 days

Sheff has 'em where he wants 'em. He did exactly what he needed to do. It's a tough ask for somebody to take this away from him. 5 stroke lead with 3 rounds to play.

Scotty is going to run away with it now. Very anti-climatic championship they need to go back to the old format. Hopefully Cam Smith withdrawals and I get my 200 back LOL

If he hits 68 or better tomorrow, then yea it's over. But, he still could turn in a bad number. Not likely, but if he does it's game on.

Not when you have a matchup play going. Doesn't matter what the leader is doing, all that matters is Spieth beat Morikawa. Both tied after 9. Now that's watchable. lol

Honest question here Range, do you play golf? Or just bet golf? Bc the only guys I know who use the term “hit” in golf, are the guys who’ve never actually played

I play. I use to play competitive all the time, caddy (still do), and every now and then play tournaments. I use all kinds of terms. "Hit" "Shot" "Posted", I could go on and on. Now the word "Gross" is used a lot when somebody "sticks one".

I just wish I could play with these guys. They're "Gross" in every category.
