Wow, I'm surprised they pulled the plug already. I guess losing to Bret Bielemma at home was the last straw.

Never understood why teams were lining up to hire him. He stunk at Pitt, too.

He actually surprised me the first 4-5 years exceeding expectations but they have fallen off the past few seasons.

I think a lot of teams will be after him.

Wisconsin interim coach, Jim Leonhard, is a hot commodity as well and was a really good player at Wisconsin.

I'd bet that they keep Leonhard.

I think part of the reason they fired Chryst is because they did not want Leonhard to take a job elsewhere.

Early-season fires are stupid. If the guy is on the hot seat at the beginning of the season, shittcan his azz in Dec or Jan and do a proper search for a new coach.

Edit: What I meant was fire him after the last season if you have no faith in him in the upcoming season.

If you're Wisconsin you can't loose to Illinois at home, especially 34-10. Yes, Illinois is much improved under Bielema, but still.........

    There is no patience anymore.

A lot of these fan bases are delusional and need to be more realistic.

Wisconsin a delusional joke program. Chryst wasn’t the almighty but he won 72% of his games there. That’s not realistic for Wisconsin as a program anyway. Laughable to think otherwise.

Is there something more here ?

I read somewhere Chryst took smaller buyout than expected

    Very strange firing

i've been watching ku games almost every week. some of most exciting games in ncaaf. not sure if it's the qb or the coach. but getting the defensive win this week did look good.

No clue. Alvarez still kingpin up there and you are either in or out with him. Alvarez an asshole too. He chased off Bielema so this was a tough pill to swallow. They are going to enter that dark cycle Michigan was in post Carr. Guys that stick around behind the scenes meddling to the detriment of the program. Wisconsin is a 56% all time program who has overachieved the last 30 years. 72% is not out there for them regardless of what they think.
