You watch? Ball hit off the base. Came back into the outfield. Renfroe knocked it over the wall. 5-4 Rays there. No way to justify what happened. Sure manfred will address the “rule” when an outfielder uses his body to knock a ball over the wall
total bs win for the sawx and that’s how mlb wanted it

Stake its better this way. The rays are being punished for cash and his stupidity in game 6 last season.

Before I go into four paragraphs of writing, did you have cash money on Tampa.
Tampa has no case or beef here.

I'm going to assume you know the grounds rule double rule.
Also it was deemed there was no intent,

    This is the major point.
Diaz never rounded third when the ball ricocheted off Renfoe into the stands.
If he had past third base he would have been awarded home, no questions asked.
But he didn't and the rule states he must go back to third.

You have no beef, sorry man, but you don't.

Actually it doesn't matter where Diaz was at any point after the ball was hit. The rule in play here awards him 2 bases from the base previously occupied. By the letter of the law, the ruling was correct. Is it fair? Probably not. Very unlucky for Tampa, but the ruling was right.
