im usually very critical of golf commentators and opinions

the first live from with oberholser and duval missed the fukkin boat (though cara banks did a fantastic job) with brooks/bryson acting as if this was 50/50 and both are acting like 5th graders

but chamblee and leonard nailed it with brooks.....guy is a piece of shit

just to clarify, its the us open champ, us am champ, and masters champ.

last year there was no masters champ at the time of us open so it went to british open champ

faxon was clearly lying whether on purpose or not it remains to be seen

he was around 40-50 "titleist guys" at a dinner when he was apparently told that

his track record has not been great

koepka, bryson, usga and now even gary woodland (the rumoured 3rd person in the group...the last 3 usopen winners) all said it didnt happen

35 lineups in the milly maker

1 or 2 will have koepka/spieth/higgo in various combinations but im just extremely underweight on them

How the fukk do they justify making a guy who's never won a major such a big fav? This has to be the shortest price since Tiger in his prime which makes no sense. Basically unbettable at this number. Xander is even worse at +1075.

those are some bad odds on a few golfers

not saying koepka will beat finau for sure, but finau should not be +1800 while koepka is +1850

Good point, I'd much rather take Hovland or Cantlay at their current odds.

    i agree
Disagree. It's shitty Torrey Pines poa not Augusta Greens there. Biggest difference in U.S. Open golf is greens and rough. A scratch golfer could go out there and play better than bogey golf. The O/U for a legit, consistent 0 handicap is prob 83.5 +/- a stroke. Drugged out Erik Anders Lang is breaking 90 at some of these Major Venues and he sucks balls.

    LOL ok bro

augusta greens are SMOOTH as silk

poa is a bumpy mess, which hurts your point.......doesnt help it

plus your average scratch golfer is playing a 6500 yard course

How often does Koepka win this? Surely greater than 1 in 18 times with his majors stats.

    Incredible value.

Rahm is fukkin good and last time out he was besting the field by half a dozen strokes with one round to play.

But it's really because he's good.

His records are strong across the board.

With Rahm it's because he has won on this course before and has the ball striking to stay out of the rough.

That being said hard to bet a guy who's never won a major at that price.

Could that be placing too much emphasis on it being a major?

I can definitely understand treating a major differently gambling wise, or better said, treating it the same but letting the higher volume and public push create value, but for the pros, the good ones, it can be just another tourney.

If it's theirs to win, it's theirs to win.

Rahm not exactly a crumble under pressure kind of guy.

Lol scratch golfers are not playing 6500 yds, my dude. They graduated those yardages in high school.

EAL shot 84 at TPC Harding Park for the PGA setup.
He shot 90 in 2019 at Pebble with a U.S. Open setup.
He shot 92 at last years Winged Foot U.S. Open setup.

Erik Anders Lang is like a 4 handicap. A scratch golfer is breaking 90.

I'm putting 5 units on Koepka and 5 units on Rahm to win outright.

One of those 2 will win in my projections.

Yeah, I'm really leaning Rahm here too to be honest.

Talking a very strong lean here.

I will put time into a bit of a write up if anyone wants course info or some recent performance metrics but I'm looking to just go with Rahm do what I've done in these threads sometimes.

Take Rahm to win, top 5, top 10, top 20, etc..

Put all my eggs in the one basket.

I know you like Koepka too, and have been waiting weeks to pound him, not sure if I will though.

before he met his wife they both loved the area and come back all the time

    seems like a great pick

Hard to say, he could miss the cut or win by 5 strokes. I just can't ignore his -80 score in majors last 5 years and next best being -20. No way is that a fluke.

That being said Rahm fits the course more. Can't miss fairways.
