Addiction doesn't discriminate. Most criminal activity involves drugs and alcohol. It affects all walks of life regardless of upbringing. See the opioid and meth crisis in America the last 15 years.

So you are telling me that kids with bad parents are not more likely to abuse drugs and booze, and engage in criminal activity???

That is a statistical fact, not my opinion

    I have also lived it

I understand that it can happen to anyone, but if you don't think that parenting is one of the most important factors in who becomes addicted to drugs, then you are listening to nonsense

    No, it's just drugs
Just because he had two sons who were, are career criminal drug addict thugs, does not reflect upon their parenting

    It's all just the drugs

    Don't you know anything????

I agree with this to a point. Yes, in general, parenting or should I say poor parenting creates kids with poor morals, values and common skills. BUT, just because someone has bad parents or good parents, doesn't mean they have no choice. Most young people have a lot of influences in their lives, apart from their parents. Friends, teachers, a coach, kids in school, TV, youtube, radio, etc. I'm sure Andy Reid tried to create the best environment for his kids. He probably wishes he could do things differently as most of us do. But, bottom line, Reid's son is a grown ass man. He should know better. Blaming his father is like blaming a gun when someone uses it to commit the crime.

This kinda reminds me of when Eugene Robinson of the Falcons got arrested before the Super Bowl. Now, Reid isn't a player but it sure seems to put a black cloud on the Chiefs to me. Covid tracing, injuries, now DUI, I'm seeing a perfect storm here. I was betting big on the Chiefs. This game just became a TB or no play for me.

I was just reading a study that examined extended social networks. The conclusion was that an adolescent with a friend who had a strict parent (even if the adolescent had a parent who was less restrictive) had an effect of up to 57% reduction in incidence of drug/alcohol/tobacco use. I would agree that if you have a parent who abuses drugs/alcohol then you are likely to have a kid who does likewise, but that could conclude that it's a genetic predisposition rather than bad parenting.

Anyways clearly parenting has a direct correlation on positive or negative behavior. I'm trolling a little bit, but to assume that Andy is a bad parent because his kids are fukk ups is a bad argument. We don't know how Andy parented his kids.

    Carry on.

People do dumb shit all the time. Alcohol is a very addictive drug. A friend of mine had an uncle who got drunk and drove every weekend. This was way before MADD and all national attention and in a small town. The police would escort him home most Friday and Saturday nights. His wife would hide the car keys but he'd somehow find them. Then I had a friend who got popped for drunk driving in DC when they first setup crazy laws. He had to pay $10k and was ordered to serve 500 hours community service. That shocked the hell out of me. $10k is tough but 500 community hours. That would take many years to work off. So anytime I had 3 or more drinks, I was calling a taxi.

May have to see the toxicology report before passing judgement. Some of these blood alcohol level laws don't make a lot of sense to me. Most states will charge you even if you are below 0.08, the national level for being legally drunk. Missouri is 0.02, so if his breath smelled of alcohol, then he is most likely fukked. Some people can handle their liquor much better than others. I know I have a low tolerance for alcohol. I know I'm impaired much quicker than what the charts show.

Yes the kid will be going to jail for a very long time if this poor young girl dies. Even if she somehow pulls thru he still spend most the rest of his life in jail. This is his 3rd strike
