    Dr. Laszlo Mechtler, the medical director for the DENT Institute, isn't buying the pinched nerve theory at all.

    "I'm 100% sure that this was a concussion - he had what we call a fencing response," Mechtler began. "A fencing response is usually due to a concussion of the brain stem, and that's when his left leg was pushed out and stiffened out, and when he tried to get up, his left side of his body was not only weak, it was really difficult for him to even move on it...and you could tell he was confused.

    This fits with the weird type of injury/mechanism of injury we saw. As a doctor, I can explain this ... which is why most thought it was odd that his head didn't hit the ground all that hard and he had very significant (drunken) symptoms immediately. If you pull and twist the neck, the level of the "brain stem" be contused or at least greater pressure can make it more likely to be. The spinal cord goes through an outlet (foramen magnum) and spinal fluid surrounds it, and I think also his leaning forward and stretching is arms slightly made positioning the real issue, along with flexion of his head and a moderate hit to the ground or the other player.

    The question regarding performance will be far more related to his toe unless he gets hit hard again in the head or neck.

    I liked the Bills anyway, so I'll gladly take the points and hope he is "cleared to play" by Saturday, which will allow me to get +3.5, most likely.

    Well something equally as negative is gonna happen for putting $$$$$$$$ over health as it's the American way...

    Too bad Mahomes is gonna be the front line Grunt and willingly as well due to his immaturity..

    Kinda reminds me of RG III (ACL and LCL Tear) as that decision basically ended his career and mentally damaging as well

    only

    the Mahomes injury is much worse as it's in CTE territory as it could end his LIFE prematurely and potentially severely limit what he chooses to do after football....

    Crazy isn't curable and it only gets worse as I can vouch for that...
    Just watch this vid of RG III getting sent to the "feel good room" (as Primetime Sanders put it) multiple times throughout this Wildcard game Vs. the Seahawks in January of 2013..
