One angle I would look at is sort of a system. With so many games at the start of the season the bookies are going to over and under estimate each teams ability. I study the against the spread records after a couple games and bet accordingly.
One year N.C. Wilmington went 5/0 ats in their first five games. I cashed a few winners on the run. Just an example.

the teams are only 5 ranks apart, for the fav to be a wager on a 5-6.point spread you need 123 rank difference. Looking at the line you would take the dog obviously. E TNN ST +5.5.. How do you guys pick these games?? out of a hat??

1. Someone somewhere knows a lot
2. Largely bet on because ETst lost 4 starters

One side that does pop out today is oklahoma state (-6.5) if you look at all other games on card with the rank variance you would have to lay -11 thru -20. Albeit -6 mabye yes but over -6 hell no. Starting small in units work up to more mabye.
