    Sports Trivia

First, dont go googling the answer before at least answering the question.
Hint: you have an 11% chance of getting the right answer.

    So here goes:

In what inning during the game are the most runs scored on average?

Well....modern baseball it's got to be the 1st inning, but historical stats would suggest the start of the 3rd trip thru the order so 6th over 120 year span??

9th will be least, often times they only play half an inning.

But I think you knew that.

2nd inning will be 2nd least, most likely, especially more recently. Hard to get less than the 9th.

    I thought we weren't looking it up?...lol.

Well, to be upfront, I didnt guess right the first time.

The answer is by far the first inning as many of you guys have mentioned.. Im going to post 2 links but its actually the 2nd link that I got the answer from off my phone. some guy did research over 370k games in the washington post article unfortunately I cant open it on my desktop because they tell me I have to subscribe, therefore 2 links.

I'd already answered it, and we all knew that answer so of course i'm going to look up other stuff

    https://www.mlb.com/news/highest-sco...-is-surprising

    since 1921 thru 2018 2nd inning a tick below 4 runs per 9 and the 9th inning two ticks above 4 runs/9

I'm guessing the last 40 years or so the 2nd inning surpasses the 9th.

I was totally joking about looking it up...lol.

agreed prob starting with the post Rollie Fingers, Rich Gossage era as closers became better and better defined as a role and filled with a plus plus arm the 9th inning should have gone down and down

find us a good graph on year to year 9th inning through recent years
